A song had a certain ISWC. But does the translation (to duch) for example get the same ISWC?

Tiske, https://chatlogs.metabrainz.org/brainzbot/music... I'm not an expert, but I guess that not: the work would have a[n extra] translator's name in ISWC => it would have a different number... Do you have an example to check?
Tiske
let me find one brb

I think it mainly depends on whether the translators were entered as interested parties. in the case of the last work you posted, they weren't, so it seems it still gets the same ISWC
Tiske
yeah still here
thank you all :-)

if the translator is added as a separate interested party, rights agencies should consider it a different work, so it would probably get a new ISWC (or at least new agency codes)
because it doesn't make sense if i were to roll in licensing money just because i translate a michael jackson song which is used by a school choir
Yeah its the same. Muziekweb is the biggest music library where you can als rent cd's
CatQuest
oh. that's not rockipedia. it's jsut a sort of wiki for norsk musikk
(but yo ucna rent music at the library)

A lot of albums are not imported into discogs and now you need to add them in MB by hand, song by song .... hrrible

Hi. Is this a channel where it is possible to ask for help regarding sparql queries for the musicbrainz database?
Yaniel
you might have more luck over in #metabrainz with that
since that's the developer channel

I've got an IPI from GEMA that returns results on ISWCnet including the work I was looking for but neither the same name nor the IPI shows up: https://musicbrainz.org/edit/79707427
Prints is now known as LiquidSandwich

Strange. Seems like it's getting the correct name and IPI from ASCAP, AKM, and SIAE
but not from GEMA or SUISA
even though GEMA and SUISA list it correctly on their own sites

what should one do with a recording that does not actually exist?
oh, never mind.
I thought it kept an orphaned recording after removing it from the real tracklist, but seems not.
