I had an emotional response to your tone, certainly that is my issue as well
but lets imagine it's the worst case abuse situation
chirlu`
Bah, labels.
derwin
I'm pretty sure I still don't consider it "urgent"
but whatever! :D
hibiscuskazeneko
It is urgent because yindesu thinks his word is law.
In plain English, he made up a new rule with no discussion or outside input and expects us to obey.
MagneticAfro
derwin and I are toad's besties.
hibiscuskazeneko
MagneticAfro: Who?
MagneticAfro
Stark told me that's what you call "best friends" nowadats

hibiscuskazeneko
Who are Toad and Stark? Princess Peach's assistant and Iron Man?
derwin
hibiscuskazeneko: we'll just have to disagree about what sort of things are "urgent"
hibiscuskazeneko
Maybe that was a poor choice of words. "Extremely critical" perhaps?
CallerNo6 chuckles

hibiscuskazeneko: I agree with yindesu that the catalog number seems to go with Victor.
(other than that I'm happy to have both labels on the release)
hibiscuskazeneko
VICL- is used for multiple imprints.
To my knowledge the Invitation imprint has not been used for new material in over 2 decades.
CallerNo6
"urgent" or not, yindesu's comment does kind of lean toward "thinks his word is law"
(or maybe it was just an "oops, I worded that poorly" moment)
hawke1
Trust me, it’s the former.
hibiscuskazeneko: so, what is it that is urgent about those edits?

hibiscuskazeneko
hawke1: The style issue, mostly.
hawke1
hibiscuskazeneko: I guess I don’t see the style issue. Is it whether having multiple catnos is allowed? which label should get the catno?
hibiscuskazeneko
I was afraid if we didn't do something about it yindesu would go on an auto-editing spree, "correcting" imprints Victor's website doesn't recognize.
hawke1: The issue at hand is that the front cover displays one imprint while the obi shows another. Victor Entertainment's website only shows the imprint on the obi, so yindesu rationalizes that that imprint is the only "correct" one.
hawke1
Ah— so the problem/question is whether one artwork’s imprint should override some other one?
hibiscuskazeneko
Yes. The catalog number issue is a red herring.
hawke1
OK. It seems to me that the release should clearly have both, and yindesu trusted the website over the artwork (wouldn’t be the first time)
hibiscuskazeneko
Yep
(IMO websites are fallbacks for if the actual artwork is unavailable)
hawke1
Agreed.
CallerNo6
I'm offended. That's asoncoverist.
hawke1
:-p
hibiscuskazeneko
dittp
ditto*
hawke1
We’re documenting actual releases, not companies websites.
CallerNo6
oh, wait, I got my hate groups mixed up. that's asoncoversupremacist.
hibiscuskazeneko
"Hate group"? You need to stop watching so much Feminist Frequency :P
CallerNo6
I don't hate tropes. Some of my best friends are tropes.
