I'm trying to add a person artist is a member of a group artist relationship, but I'm not seeing the "use in a relationship" link that was there last time I edited, was that changed? And how am I supposed to do this?
Okay, I see if I go to the edit tab for an artist, I can edit relationships there.

i just added my first compact cassette and I'm not sure if i did it properly
xram, I can't be the only person who gets paranoid when a random site is in Dutch without my asking because it sniffs my ip or cookies.
xram
random site being musicbrainz ?
Bestial_Twelve
Quite so.
Why do sites do that.
xram
I don't know, ask stackoverflow
Bestial_Twelve
I can still remember this update on my OS that randomly made everything Dutch because they actually thought I'd find that easier to use, googling solutions for problems is next to impossible if you localize your OS.

Bestial_Twelve: it is just IMO that YOU have set your browser to say it prefers dutch in its languages settings ;p
hey hey, the (RG) ratings disappeared from the release page ?
Schisma______
jesus2099: → release group page
jesus2099
but it was also accessible from the release page (where you usually rate your stuff from) before
it was convenient enough that i will creaate a ticket
KRSCuan would find it convenient to disable ratings everywhere
KRSCuan
(I have a script to hide them, but it's not perfect)
jesus2099
ratings rules
it prevents me from listening same crap over and over because i have bad memory
now i just listen to crap once
KRSCuan
I don't care about other people's ratings, and I don't know if I can sync ratings with MBz.
But then, rating stuff from the player would be easier.
I just get rid of the crap. :)
jesus2099
http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/MBS-7720 i also sell my crap but it already happened that i bought it again by mistake… otherwise crap comes from my library and i regularly borrow same things repeat without rememberr if it was good or if i ever listened to it
KRSCuan
Only bad thing is when there are a few bad tracks dragging an otherwise great album down.
jesus2099
frankly, that’s the majority… how can someone do only good stuff… it happens, those are great :)
KRSCuan
The majority is consistently bad and ear-damaging stuff.
Or releases where there's only one good song, so you can download that and don't touch the rest of the album.
jesus2099
sometimes i bought albums with more or less only one good track… when i was young i had sold them back to buy some other but then now that i am rich i regret those and am buying them back again for 1 or 2€, telling to myself those are just singles with lots of not so good b-sides. and nostalgy makes them sound better now anyway ;)
wow a cool recent evolution in the edit interface : now typing S in the work type select jumps to SONG ! great i don’t need to hit arrow key a certain amount of times anuy more :)
I somehow assumed MBChatLogger would just provide a nice link for the edit # keyword ;)
thx for voting

Seems like a bug, the RE matching the Disc ID tracks to release tracks by the textual number instead of the position.
outsidecontext
cirlu: yes, but even the textual numbers are exchanged
in the release editor it was track 11 (4:27), then track 12 (4:46). after submitting it was the other way round (track 12 (4:46), then track 11 (4:27))
Did you enter the edit on beta or on the main server?
outsidecontext
chirlu`, intersting. i entered it on the main server. but I did it by selecting an existing 11 track track list as a starting point and added the 12th track separately.
in the edit summary it was still ordered correctly, but that could just have been by chance
chirlu`
Did you add the 12th track by clicking “Add n new tracks” or in the track parser?
outsidecontext
"add new track"
wait. more complicated ;)
i started with submitting a discid (which did not exist), selected "add new release". then i took an existing 11 track track listing, got a warning that the disc ID does not match, but i could reselect it in a dropdown.
did reselect the disc ID, the system automatically a 12th track for which I just added the title
so the bug should happen when selecting the disc ID
when i resubmit the disc ID i can test this and submit a bug report
chirlu`
Yes, that would be good.
There are a few issues lurking somewhere in the release editor and/or the medium edit classes. :-(
That an Add Medium edit reuses track IDs is very suspicious, too.
Though it seems the tracks have actually been duplicated in spite of this.
Ah, the IDs are deleted in Data::Track::insert, OK.
Well, I have to leave now.

fuck.. can i split a release with multiple mediums into a release group?
medium to release group

warp
Schisma______: probably the easiest is to add a new release, and use the "duplicates" tab to get a copy of the mediums from the release you want to split
Schisma______: and then you can just remove the mediums you don't need from both releases.
