man imagine if wikipedia editors had to add related entities
in order to complete edits
argh, and now a missing artist :D
hawke1
derwin: See wikidata. ;-)
derwin
hawke1: is that required there?
hawke1
Yep.
You have to have the thing to relate to in order to add the relationship.
derwin
oh, well that makes sense, yeah.
" This is used to link an artist to their page on a social networking site such as Facebook or Last.fm. "
but last.fm pages aren't owned by the artist
most other social media pages are
kepstin-laptop
in theory, it's possible for an artist to have a user account on last.fm
dunno if anyone has used it like that, tho
ianweller
i'm not sure how that's of any use in our data though
derwin
oh, a /user/ url, not a /music/ url, lol
kepstin-laptop is sad that apple killed the ipod classic (finally).
3 artists on release... 2 new to MB :/
kepstin-laptop
at least these ipod classics have a pretty decent aftermarked modding and repair community
looks like archos discontinued their last hard drive player a while back, too
Mineo joined the channel
KRSCuan
And nothing of value was lost.
Archos was never particularly good at building mp3 players.
(Neither was Apple.)
kepstin-laptop
even so, they're the only folks who had made any players with big storage in the past few years :/
(and rockbox fixes a lot of the faults of the apple players ;)
KRSCuan
Does it fix bad audio output? (at least that's what I've always heard as one of the main issues with the old iPod)
kepstin-laptop
hmm, I've heard some stuff about some of the older models having trouble driving high-impedence headphones. I haven't really noticed any issues...
KRSCuan
The market for mp3 players is pretty much dead anyway.
kepstin-laptop
(given that I mostly use it when commuting, it's not like I'd be able to notice minor audio quality issues in the dac/amp)
I'm tempted to go to the apple store and try to pick up a spare, if they have any stock left :/
KRSCuan
8GB players still cost as much as 4 years ago, while the prices for flash memory have declined so much that manufacturers could put 64GB on them at the same price as back then.
