Is "executive producer" more an artist-release relationship, rather than artist-recording?

I see it's available for both, but it sounds to me like a release-leve role.

according to http://musicbrainz.org/user/area_bot, the 3-hour task isn't running not for a technical reason, but because: "not currently running because the current implementation has encouraged a small number of people to enter bad data into Wikidata in order to get an area added to MusicBrainz."
