CatQuest
:D \o/ 🎉
Shubh
but there's some issue..., my university doesn't seem to be giving summer break this year might be due to slow down caused by covid. not sure what should i do now :'
CatQuest
erh what, they can't do that?
Shubh
actually they can, i also thought they can't
CatQuest
but esp in india the temprature is ridicolus!
Shubh
Hmm but still
monkey: let me know what do you think would be the best here, withdraw from gsoc this year and let other's participate or doing gsoc alongside college (time constraint) :(
riksucks
Shubh: Congratulations, very well deserved. I will always remember the good discussions we had regarding backend
MRiddickW has quit
monkey
Oh Shubh that's sad news ! When you say " doesn't seem to be giving summer break" is it a confirmed thing?
I'm pretty sure it's going to be too difficult to combine college and a GSoC project over the same period of time :(
college -> uni *
Shubh
sadly yes, i suppose many gsoc participants from india will face the same issue :(
monkey
And so do you have your timetables and such already? Is there any way to organise the time and extend the project period to make it work somehow?
Shubh
I have the time table for college activities like exam and stuff, on normal college days i am free after 5:30pm and can work on the project but not sure if that's sufficient
monkey
Could you please make a calculation of how much time you would realistically be able to commit (with keeping in mind your sanity please :) ), with an extended program timeline?
Shubh
weekdays + saturday(no off on saturdays as well :< ) : ~4hr and on sunday: 10-12hr
I do think it is doable though since i already have some work done on states, routes and basic page layout stuff
