From what I know, to my immense regret the Badncamp API does not allow you to do that (otherwise I would have added it to play music on LB a long time ago 😭).

However I have seen other projects do an HTTP call to load the Bandcamp search page and parse it to get links to album pages.

This could probably be extended to also parse the album pages and retrieve a price.

Hey guys, I am looking into ListenBrainz dumps, particularly into the listens files. I notice that most (if not all) the entries have a recording_msid but am unsure what recording_msid can be used for since it doesnt actually map to the main MusicBrainz recordings entries' "gid"

        * not all) of the entries

      • rostiku[m]
is recording_msid just a randomly generated UUID that doesnt actually map to anything? I am trying to tie ListenBrainz listens -> MusicBrainz database

gonna check out the listenbrainz data documentation, but will also appreciate an answer here

is my best bet only relying on listens entries that have a track_mbid populated? it cuts the listens data significantly

rostiku: you can use the metadata lookup endpoint to map tracks to MB (https://api.listenbrainz.org/1/metadata/lookup/?r…)

      • lucifer[m]
this data is also present in the mbid_mapping key of additional_info in the listens data returned by the api.
      • 2025-07-21 20247, 2025

      • lucifer[m]
there are options to get more data using the endpoint, in documentation.

so everythingin the additional_info block in the listens files is already information that was mapped?

no just the mbid_mapping part inside the additional_info block
