Added an option to show albums with no cover art (the underlying mechanism was already in place).

What do we think about the CoverArtArchive logo? Personally I think it could do with lower opacity.

The opacity feels fine for me, but I do have the same feeling of it catching too much attention.

I'd suggest to maybe scale it down ? Not as much as the circle in the Ova CA, but still having the hexagon out of the caption

Is there a reason that I see a song album cover when I link to musicbrainz the recording but if I hit F5 and refresh the page the album cover disappears ?

Just tested again, after manually mapping an unmapped listen, the metadata should contain the release-group MBID at least so that we can load some cover art, but it does not.

Lotheric[m]: Yes I tried as well on your profile to apply the same manual mapping, to check if it was related to how many users map a listen. It is not.
      • 2025-11-06 31011, 2025

      • monkey[m]
I can see the listen is mapped to the MB recording and we have MBIDs for the artists too, but there is no provision for release-group MBID it looks like.
      • 2025-11-06 31050, 2025

      • Lotheric[m]
yeah I went to my profile to see if there was listens unmapped and thoses weren't appearing there so I figured they were correctly mapped
      • 2025-11-06 31000, 2025

      • monkey[m]
I agree with you it's frustrating
      • 2025-11-06 31018, 2025

      • monkey[m]
OK, one more piece of information: this is related to our metadata cache, which is not up-to-date with MusicBrainz but instead is rebuilt at a set interval.
      • 2025-11-06 31018, 2025

      • monkey[m]
So I think this missing cover art is because the release is not in the metadata cache yet as they were entered recently in MB, and it resolves itself after some period of time (not sure when exactly). If I map a listen to a recording that has been in MB for longer and refresh the page, the cover art is still visible. For more recent recordings the release info is missing.

On top a recording that was added last Friday, on the bottom an older recording. Both mapped just now and this is the result after refreshing the page

      • Lotheric[m]
yeah I added the release to MB last week I think, it's faily recent

Lotheric: I checked in with the rest of the LB team, and indeed this is an issue with our metadata cache being out of date. Currently it is rebuilt once a month, so at worst you have to wait a month for the issue to resolve itself. Yikes.

We discussed strategies to reduce that gap to weekly, in the first place, and in the new year aim for running it daily.

I have a minute so I'll work on a greyscale/more subtle version that could look good, as well (but up to you which one to use monkey)

I think subtle would be nicest, to not distract from the cover art (but still a breath of advertising...)

Yeah, with whatever opacity you like - the right is probably too subtle
