Aerozol (@_discord_537897767968833566:chatbrainz.org) added a few more papers to the Research section, sorted them by date

I dont know whether adding all projects that mention any metabrainz service is a good idea, as there are too many of them

Yeah, I started off adding mentions etc, before I realised how many there were! I think just ones where MetaBrainz services are a core mention/aspect, as well as the other table where datasets were used

        Hi Faizan Akhtar !

      • monkey[m]
We are in a transition period where we are changing our OAuth provider from the musicbrainz website to the metabrainz website (the parent umbrella project), so I think this is likely to be the reason.

      • monkey[m]
Try creating an account and an application here: https://musicbrainz.org/new-oauth2/client/list
      • 2025-12-01 33500, 2025

      • monkey[m]
Yes, I just checked and the OAUTH_CLIENT_ID and OAUTH_CLIENT_SECRET I am using are the ones I created on MetaBrainz
      • 2025-12-01 33518, 2025

      • monkey[m]
Keep the other values unchanged (OAUTH_AUTHORIZE_URL = f"{MUSICBRAINZ_BASE_URL}/new-oauth2/authorize" etc.)
      • 2025-12-01 33513, 2025

      • monkey[m]
Also a quick note: for development discussion, you are better off asking on the #metabrainz:chatbrainz.org channel where there will be more people to help

<failure[m]> "update: i have managed to hotfix..." <- failure: Sure thing, you can go ahead and work on the ticket. The hotfix thing I assume is similar to what I usually do myself for local dev: either replace the front-end data loading with a json file containing fake data (copied from the prod website), or change the server endpoint to return fake data in the same way.

Pro tip: on LB, in the console you can type toggleDevtools() to get access to a react-query console, where you can inspect the data returned by API calls

Thanks a lot monkey Sir !......That clarifies the confusion. I was using the old application dashboard. I will generate the new credentials from the newoauth2 link you provided and update my config. I'll also make sure to post future development questions in the #metabrainz channel as suggested
      • 2025-12-01 33547, 2025

Oh, no "sir" for me please :D It's pretty relaxed around here ;)

Don't hesitate to come with questions and issues when you can't find the answer. For reference, it's definitely good to try to find the solution yourself, but better to come ask than spend literal hours on it

I was going through the good first bugs for ListenBrainz, and I noticed that many issues marked as open already have PRs submitted and even merged. Shouldn’t those be marked as resolved/closed?

<harizz_076_51983> "I was going through the good..." <- Most likely, yes! Can you please send me the ticket numbers? I'll do some cleanup.

PSA: We ran out of disk space, and LB was having some issues as a consequence. We're back in working order now, but for about 30 minutes (15:32-16:00 CET) your listens submission had a high chance of erroring out. Let's hope your scrobbler has a decent retry strategy 🤞

Automated submitters (like Spotify or Last.FM connections) will automatically recover.

You were right, the fix was already there. My mistake was trusting the task status instead of checking the code file first bcz i m new so i dont have any idea about this............... I understand this took your tym I will check the code every tym now.
