a question, since I am very confused, where exactly does LB make API calls to buiild the metadata cache? so far, i've seen plumbing for the aggregating of data and inserting it into the database via the crons, but not actually accessing the data from listenbrainz

The metadata cache is not filled by calling any APIs. We have a batch job which connects to the MusicBrainz database, runs some SQL queries, and assembles the data. You can refer to the code here. https://github.com/metabrainz/listenbrainz-server…
