Mapping listens is a separate component altogether and any listens inserted in the database are picked up by it so you wouldn't need to take care of it.

does listenbrainz try to autolink songs after failing the first time?

cuz for example Im currently adding a lot of songs on musicbrainz and they're currently unlinked on my listenbrainz profile

do I have to link them manually?

The colors are a little too third reich, don't you think?

I like the second aesthetically but the first one is probably easier to associate with music

Any other ideas? I want it to be instantly recognizable as related to musicbrainz but with a twist so it shouldn’t be confused with an official metabrainz project. I thought maybe i could put it on a black background which is what some streaming services go for

also if I get it right, if noone has linked those songs, they wont get linked automatically, even if I have added them, right?

I read somewhere that it takes 2 people to link a song

to be autolinked for the rest in the future

yes, it retries after a few days. alternatively, yes manually linking. it gets applied globally if there are at least 2-3 people with same manual mappings.

I'd say to separate yourself but more from MB. You want to associate yourself, not be part of the *Brainz projects.

I'd rotate the second logo counter clockwise 30 degrees, and add a dark red trumpet on the second side to fill it up a bit

NGL I think that having a common fan-brainz logo convention could be neat too. We are not part of metabrainz, but are ~~leeches endlessly sucking up metadata~~ just over products integrated to the data

Actually here's a mockup of what I'm thinking off. Added a notch to make it more like an add-on too
