Hello, I recently created an issue on the MetaBrainz ticket system as someone suggested. Should I also create a GitHub issue for better visibility, or is the tracker enough?

KrishnaCosmic (IRC): we don't use github issues.

Thank you for letting me know! Since GitHub issues aren't used, could you please guide me on how code contributions are made? For example, in GitHub we create pull requests — is there a similar process here?
      • lucifer[m]
krishnacosmic: yes, we use pull requests and all of the repos are on github. we just don't use github issues.
      • sparksphereinspi
Got it! Thanks for clarifying. I'll proceed with creating a pull request once I've worked on the issue. Is there anything specific I should keep in mind while contributing?
      • lucifer[m]
can't think of anything general but if you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

hi lucifer! I can you please check this proposal give feedback for any changes. [import-listening-history](https://community.metabrainz.org/t/importing-listening-history-files-gsoc-2025-application/749446)

mshahnawaz1: i will take a detailed look soon but from a cursory look, i suggest that you should actually look into the schema of the files you will implement importers for and include that in the proposal. also the last.fm importer already exists.
      • monkey[m]
<lucifer[m]> "mshahnawaz1: i will take a..." <- I think the mentions of LastFM are because one ticket (LB-1632) requests being able to import CSV export files made of LastFM from a third party website: https://benjaminbenben.com/lastfm-to-csv/
      • lucifer[m]
monkey, mshahnawaz1: i see, please clarify that in your proposal as well and i would suggest creating a last.fm profile submitting some music to it then using that api to obtain a sample csv and see how it can be imported to LB.

actually i have imported last.fm data using [mainstream.ghan.nl](https://mainstream.ghan.nl/export.html) from here i got csv file. Also I think it has more information.
      • Thanks! I will look into it.

mshahnawaz1: i see, i am not sure the export format on this is same as the export format on the site linked earlier so double check once but otherwise sounds good.

m.amanullah7: don't start working on the project itself, but rather on the proposal which you are most interested.
