yeah, if you're on a supported linux distro, upgrading ca-certificates usually works as a workaround.

it's actually technically a bug in older openssl versions that many lts linux distros use :/

makes sense, our docker images are on Ubuntu 16.04 which acc to https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge... is affected by expired Let's encrypt cert.

so this issue is likely to persist unless we upgrade base docker image. i'll add this workaround to the base image till then.

acc to my understanding, at least all python images are affected. i'll put my two workarounds in draft PRs on LB, unlikely any other python brainz needs work urgently. you can use those in branches as needed. thoughts?

we include pg client in all python brainz iirc. and the command used in the images is also same. so i expect all to break. (unless there's a cached layer around so that the curl command need not be executed)
