Hi there. I'm have installed MB server as a slave using docker and time to time it just freeze and doesn't respond to any request so i need to restart service (or server if it doesn't help). Any idea how to find where the problem is ?

        happy new year all
      • param: hi, for jspf I don't think so - I have xspf: https://github.com/alastair/xspf but that's not been updated in a long time, and is targeted at the XML representation, I suspect that it's not directly compatible with the json one (maybe I should update that)

        Happy New Year alastairp !

thanks zas! I hope you are well
      • I just snuck in to follow up on some emails and do paperwork so that when I come back next week I won't have too many pending tasks :)

      • alastairp: Converting SIR to Python 3 used to be of higher priority than Solr 8 which has not yet been planned. Things that would have to be tested: Compatibility with SIR/pysolr; MB search form, tag lookup form, other lookup form, field completion, API search query; Remote search at search.mb.o through OpenResty; Search indexes dump.
      • alastairp
I've upgraded 2 solr 6/7 projects to 8 recently, and search results remained the same (with just a few small changes), although MB search is much more complex (especially with mbsssss)
      • however, I can make a ticket (unless there already is one made), with a list of steps, and I can take a look

        alastairp: got it!
      • so i guess we're rolling it on our own in LB etc ?
      • alastairp
param: right, no specific library in LB for this

        sad thing is that https://xspf.org/jspf 404s :D
      • alastairp
hmm, I think that mayhem told me that recently this server/domain was updated. looks like that's a bug
      • https://gitlab.xiph.org/xiph/xspf-website/-/iss... looks like the correct place to report this
      • yyoung[m] joined the channel
      • param: actually, here's an anecdote - while we were dealing with year in earlier in December, we found that there were some bugs in the way that we're rendering the jspf, specifically the keys that we were using for the MB-specific extensions (https://musicbrainz.org/doc/jspf), and so having some lightweight library (be it part of pylb, or something else) to make sure that we do things correctly could be nice
      • param
I was thinking the same :D
      • looks like there was a bug for the 404 already: https://gitlab.xiph.org/xiph/xspf-website/-/iss...
      • i'll see if i can get the spec from the archive and build something lightweight for it
      • alastairp
cool. if you want, take a look at my library and see if you can extend it
      • if it's straightforward to do that, I can spend some more time improving it
      • I think I mostly wrote it as a "python OO interface to _create_ xspf", and I didn't really deal with parsing
      • it's probably small enough that it might be easier to just blow it away and start again, python has progressed quite a while since then too...

alastairp, re Solr: That would be helpful. MB search is documented at https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Development/Search_...
