Hi Raghvan Pareek, thanks for your interest. Storing in the session is expected indeed. For this purpose, the various `root/static/scripts/common/utility/*Cookie.js` should be useful. šŸ™‚
      • It is likely that useEffect and/or useState can be useful too but I would almost have to resolve the ticket to confirm. šŸ˜‰
      • RaghvanPareek[m]
hey yvanzo, will work with this approach then, thanks for your response
      • yvanzo[m]
monkey, mayhem, kellnerd: Here might be a new funding opportunity, especially relevant to boost BookBrainz: https://floss.fund/blog/announcing-floss-fund/
      • reosarevok[m]
jasje: I don't think there's any *specific* deadline for this - after all we can already do all of it - it's just a way to make it more clear
      • Going to /account/delete seems fine, and if they have to log in first, they should in theory be sent back to the same page after log in
      • jasje[m]
reosarevok: yes verified the behavior and hardcoded the link
      • TOPIC: MetaBrainz Community and Development channel | MusicBrainz non-development: #musicbrainz | BookBrainz: #bookbrainz | Channel is logged and not empty as it is bridged to IRC; see https://musicbrainz.org/doc/ChatBrainz for details | Reminder: Meeting is taking place at 18 UTC starting from today due to European winter time | Agenda: Reviews
      • yvanzo[m]
ATTENTION: Europe switched to winter time yesterday. So tonightā€™s meeting time will take place at 18 UC, that is one hour later in UTC (and for all timezones not following the same shift yesterday.)

MBS-13796: Clarify tag cloud/list is for total tag count, not tagged entities https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/MBS-13796
      • reosarevok[m]
"These are the most used genres and other tags in the database." -> "These are the most used genres and other tags in the database, based on total tag count (all upvotes minus all downvotes)."
      • Does that seem like a clear enough change without being too wordy?
      • aerozol[m]1
        Hmm interesting
      • That sounds good. I think the new text is all good but "genes and other tags" might be redundant, since the sections are already labeled as such. Maybe "The most popular tags in MusicBrainz (calculated by final score, upvotes minus downvotes)."
      • As always, just a suggestion
      • reosarevok[m]
I guess that could make sense, actually
      • I probably worded it like that because it used to be a tag cloud and it got changed to two separate clouds / lists
      • But tbh it's probably not needed
      • We don't use score elsewhere, so maybe I'd just do
      • `These are the most popular tags in MusicBrainz, based on their total counts (upvotes minus downvotes).`,
      • But I do agree that seems simpler

yvanzo: I don't have any real comments about the Weblate legal bits since I didn't really follow the original discussion other than knowing some users didn't love the wording
      • IIRC outsidecontext was a lot more involved in that so he might have opinions, you could also try to get the users who were most involved back then involved again

      • Iā€™m also going to give a look at it anyway, I was just sharing it with you in case you are interested.
      • reosarevok[m]
Ok, just trying to suggest people who might also be interested from the community, but I understand there's probably too little time, yeah
      • yvanzo[m]
And not to be publicized right now, hence using the mail.
      • reosarevok[m]

mayhem: what do we need to do?
      • mayhem[m]
      • https://musicbrainz.org/.well-known/funding-man... should return this URL and nothing else: "https://metabrainz.org/funding.json"
      • the same applies for BookBrainz, monkey
      • monkey[m] joined the channel
      • monkey[m]
Should this be handled by metabrainz.org instead? I had a look earlier today
      • reosarevok[m]
I understand it is, but the point is just to prove we run BB and MB
      • monkey[m]
I wasn't sure how we're supposed to present for donations: separate projects, or MeB foundation?
      • mayhem[m]
yes, metabrainz.org is handling it. but since the projects we are asking for funding for are not on metabrainz.org we need to jump through these wellknown hoops
      • reosarevok[m]
tbh I get the feeling that this specific project is meant more for the small pieces the internet depends on as per that xkcd comic, but
      • Guess nothing to lose
      • mayhem[m]
I really like the concept, so why not go for it?
      • monkey: MEB is the main funding asker, each project (BB, LB and MB) are the projects we ask for.
      • monkey[m]
        >should return this URL and nothing else: "https://metabrainz.org/funding.json"
      • I misunderstood as saying the same should be returned from BB/.well-known/funding-manifest-urls
      • Gah.
      • I misunderstood as saying the same should be returned from BB/.well-known/funding-manifest-urls
      • But I guess I return the BB address instead
      • mayhem[m]
BB/.well-known/funding-manifest-urls should return nothing more than this URL: "https://metabrainz.org/funding.json"
      • the idea is that BB gives permission/defers to meb.org for funding.json
      • monkey[m]
Ah, so I did understand correctly the first time. Brain fart.
      • mayhem[m]
if you could help make this a reality on BB, that would be great.
      • monkey[m]
Sure thing. I saw this morning that we also need the same process on the github repo itself for the repositoryUrl.wellKnown field
      • i.e. creating a .well-known/funding-manifest-urls file in the git repo
      • mayhem[m]
        exactly. thanks!
      • I'll take care of LB, I'll pester reosarevok to take care of MB.
      • yvanzo[m]
zas: Our custom script `entrypoint.sh` for Exim is not used at all since `ENTRYPOINT` has not been modified and still points to `docker-entrypoint.sh`. Is this added code still relevant? https://github.com/metabrainz/docker-exim/blob/...
      • Also the rest of the script (including setting file ownership) is bypassed because we are passing tini (instead of exim) as first argument to CMD: https://github.com/metabrainz/docker-exim/blob/...

mayhem: for MB I guess we copy how we serve robots.txt, which is done from openresty: https://github.com/metabrainz/openresty-gateway...

bitmap: if you do end up doing it for all projects at once, do let me know and I will close the above PR which was a sinple two lines change
      • bitmap[m]
I'll do MB for now, that looks simpler than the corresponding openresty change would be anyway

      • On my list for today: rimskii, outsidecontext, yvanzo, theflash_, kellnerd, lucifer, ansh, yellowhatpro, aerozol, jasje, MonkeyPython, bitmap, zas, atj, mayhem, monkey, reosarevok, akshaaatt

      • ApeKattQuest
may I go after monkey :D
      • monkey[m]
Last week I worked on some big PRs to update to Bootstrap 5, and another one for ESLint 9
      • For BookBrainz, that is
      • On the LB side, I deployed the new donations page, fixed a couple of things with the artist page, and gave a hand to lucifer for the automated back-end LastFM imports UI
      • And a bunch of PR reviews and SEC tickets for both projects
      • And finally, made Youtube icons bigger on LB because they're apparently worried about size... [rolls eyes]
      • ApeKattQuest (IRC): you're next
      • ApeKattQuest
        Arararara~! hi!
      • This week has been HELL! it's still not over!
      • I also looked at ektara/gopichan/tumbi and now remember why I quit in the first place, the wikipages are a cluckerfust šŸ˜‚
      • tomorrow I will relax by going to ikea (yes, that's how hellish this week has become, ikea is relaxing fml)
      • BUT once that has been done, my workflow should actually improve significantly! (buying a new workstation/bookcase and reorganising stuff so i have easy access to books and more space on my desk)
      • which should really kick into gear both the bookbrainz style work and instrument work
      • anyway, that's it ,next cna be hmm aerozol[m]1 ?
      • reosarevok[m]
If he is awake, that is!
      • 7 AM - well, it's not impossible at least anymore
      • mayhem[m]
        Heh
      • reosarevok[m]
In the meantime, yellowhatpro is off to enjoy Diwali. Have fun!
      • Still on my list for today: rimskii, outsidecontext, yvanzo, theflash_, kellnerd, lucifer, ansh, aerozol, jasje, bitmap, zas, atj, mayhem, reosarevok, akshaaatt
      • ApeKattQuest
if not then akshaaatt is fine
      • reosarevok[m]
Maybe let's call someone else and give aerozol time to wake, yes :)
      • akshaaatt: around? :)
      • ApeKattQuest
        hmmm
      • mayhem[m] can go
      • if not kellnerd
      • oh ops
