among perks: java major bump, docker images now based on ubuntu 24 aka noble, jetty 12 now in use (previous versions now EoL as of earlier this year), native opentelemetry(!!), deprecated stuff cleaned out, better tls1.3 support and “modern cipher suites”, new index throughput-optimized merge policy, and apparently now there’s a factory that “ensures index compatibility with future solr versions during upgrade scenarios”
