reosarevok: not sure about that. once you get out of BCN, its all catalan. I think there are plenty of speakers of their dialect on those islands.

and we've heard stories of mainlanders going to talk to people there and not finding a common catalan to speak. they had to speak spanish to understand each other.

last week was working on code with monkey on the entity pages, cleaned a few things up, but I still had to pass it to lucifer to finish off. still loads that needs doing.

I also started working on the mosaic image.

and I finally managed to get amazon and spotify to update out banking details. hopefully that means that some $28k are headed towards our bank account before the year is out.

and there was, of course, the ususal MeB background stuff.. the boring stuff.

Last week I worked a bit with bitmap to merge a bunch of small old PRs and get the number of open ones under 100

Which does sound like a crazy amount still (and it is!) but it's a lot less than it has been in the past

So, yay

I also worked with yvanzo to improve and add context to a ton of strings which I think is finally ready(ish) now

Which should make the life of translators easier and better, after a short period of making it annoying :D

Other than that, I finished work (hopefully) on fixing a 10 year (or more) old bug where half our email preferences did absolutely nothing at all and also people could opt out of getting info about notes on their own edits. whoops.

Last week, I majorly worked on the Artist Similarity Graph PR. I refactored quite a good amount of existing code.

Created a few endpoints to fetch the relevant data to have a visually appealing page, with dynamic colours.

Other than that, I made some changes to the Fresh Releases PR to make some components easily reusable.

Over the weekend I finally started to reorganize the provider classes of my Harmony seeder to make it less painful to add features which require access to the internal state of release lookups.

Still on my list today: bitmap, zas, yvanzo, lucifer, atj, Pratha-Fish, jasje

Of course it was painful to convince TypeScript that the new structure with two abstract class hierarchies with generics that have to know about each other is valid code 😅

Otherwise not much, only the usual MB editing and voting.

Mainly worked on the search indexer, reviewed/completed a few MBS PRs, mainly the PR on translation’s context (which reosarevok mentioned).

Had two friendly calls with aerozol about MB docs and translations (which he mentioned too).

Plus the usual Jira maintenance, search indexer, support, tickets triage…

Last, I’m reminding all the potential GSoC 24 mentors to please write and develop the ideas that have been proposed during the last summit.
