mayhem: someone on support says "I am trying to find coverart for the recording with the earliest first-release-date, but that turns out te be really difficult."
I was thinking depending on how super-precise they want to be maybe something something canonical data could help?
mayhem[m]
yeah, could.
lucifer[m]
the cannonical data just defers to MB though.
mayhem[m]
doesn't MB have a table for that data?
why not query that?
reosarevok[m]
I think they have title and artist and are trying to get cover art using the API
mayhem[m]
canonical data, deffo.
reosarevok[m]
I was thinking that sounds similar to the kind of stuff LB gets in, so maybe there's an endpoint for that they could easily use

jasje: in this should we make the 'you' non clickable since when we click on you then it shows null in profile or we can navigate to the user's own profile?

Hi, and welcome to the MetaBrainz Monday Meeting!

Not sure if "and that" or "not that"
Anyway
I have two mailed in reviews
derat says:
'''
I spent a bit more time getting yambs to work with Tidal's v2 API.
I think it's pretty much there, but I haven't finished it up and shipped it yet since it needs more testing and sounds like it might be a regression from the current code that uses the internal API, in terms of rate-limiting and crediting featured artists (and probably other areas that I haven't noticed yet!).
Other than that, mostly just the usual daily leaving of edit notes. Still thinking about additional style checks that the server could do to point beginner editors in the right direction...
'''
And yvanzo says: "Last week, I mainly handled security updates while prepping MusicBrainz Solr 9 backups."
On my list for today: kellnerd, jasje, monkey, Gautam Shorewala, ansh, outsidecontext, julian45, reosarevok, zas, mayhem, MonkeyPython, bitmap, lucifer, aerozol
kellnerd: wanna start? :)
Maybe not :)
Ok, julian45? :)
julian45[m]
Sure!
Hi all! I meant to spend most of last week working on the auth server for the admin/staff SSO project, but nerd-sniped myself into fixing CI for our Docker Ansible role (as well as the role itself)
This week I plan to finish the latter up and hopefully get back to the former :)
That's all for me, go bitmap ?
bitmap[m]
hello
last week I mainly did a bunch of code review, worked on the PG switchover to cesaria, and moved services off of hendrix onto isaac
ah I also submitted a PR for MBS-13943 which would be useful for importers
Since february is coming to a close, I'll be having some more time to look at instruments, people are encouraged to randomly nag me about it so I don't forget :D
Still on my list: kellnerd, jasje, ansh, reosarevok, zas, mayhem, lucifer
monkey[m]
Last week I discussed and worked with ansh to migrate LB to Bootstrap 5 (from v3...)
Picked up the LB mobile device music player, a new UI which looks much much better. Hoping to finish that this week incorporating great feedback from rustynova and aerozol
Also fixed a bug in the manual add listens modal that I introduced the week prior
[insert Obama medal meme]
aerozol[m]
Always good to keep yourself in a job!
monkey[m]
And as ApeKattQuest (IRC) mentioned, discussed and continued work on the BookBrainz user guide revamp
And a bunch of PR reviewing !
That's me for last week
ansh: Tell us about yours

Or maybe mayhem , since ansh seems offline
mayhem[m]
ay!
last week was mostly technical work, very little else. glorious!
I spent time moving the lb-local forward until I lost momentum due to a boring task.
so I went back to working the mapping lookup and I made some good progress there.
still not out of the "6 steps forward 18 back" phase yet, but hopefully soon we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
but the lookup speeds are great. :)
fin, zas ?
zas[m] joined the channel
zas[m]
Hey
Last week I worked on DNS migration, discussed with julian about it, he suggested a nice tool named dnscontrol, so I conducted a bunch of tests and evaluation, and I think we'll use it: basically it will help us to manage dns zones and ease any future migration.
Also work on Picard, added support for ruff
Plus usual tasks, sys upgrades, user support, and MB edits. fin. mayhem?
reosarevok[m]
He just called you 😂
Still on my list: kellnerd, jasje, reosarevok, lucifer
zas[m]
Aaaagh, jasje?

kellnerd: go!

Hi there!
(sorry for the delay earlier, was AFK for a few minutes)
Last week I reviewed more Harmony PRs by outsidecontext and did some more code refactoring.
Notably supporting multiple release types per provider (for example Tidal album and video, or Bandcamp album and track) is less of a hack now.
I am slowly getting the provider test suite setup fully usable as well, although my time is still limited due to my research at the university.
Go reosarevok!
reosarevok[m]
Hi!
Last week I worked on fixing borked bits of our site's HTML while updating to a new version of the validator we use
Also fixed some cases of "Element x is not allowed inside element y" which we had been ignoring for 14 years or something like that with the comment
"We should probably actually fix these, see MBS-xxxx"
(literally xxxx)
I love looking at our old code
Jigen
lmao
reosarevok[m]
Other than that, small style issues, doing the releases, including a few neat things this week, and I started working on MBS-13771
