Hmm, I have “release group cover” top in my cover image hierarchy, but when I’m tagging a release in this release group it keeps grabbing the vinyl cover, not the RG cover (I’m tagging a CD). Any ideas why? https://beta.musicbrainz.org/release-group/3f5c...
      • Oh, I think it’s a MB problem! When I click the image in the group it loads the vinyl image! I won’t fix it yet so people can click and see what I mean :)
      • (assuming changing the release group image fixes it)
      • In checking the tickets for this I found https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/PICARD-2109 - could this be done in Picard 3 pretty please?
      • PICARD-2109 - Set cover art default to CAA Release Group

That ticket is about changing the default cover art provider order. But the question is whether having the RG group provider first actually is the better default. I think no
      • The change itself is easy. But also every user can change the provider order in options if they want.

This was discussed before, and you agreed to put it in a major update :0
      • But I’m happy to discuss again. The issue here is that beginner/casual users are more likely to want the RG cover (and add incorrect images to individual MB rekeases, which happens a lot). Users who want to be more precise are also users who are more likely to go into the settings.
      • We currently have it the other way round, where the more “basic” user is expected to change settings
      • It’s also fine if you changed your mind (or I remember incorrectly!), of course

I don't really have a strong opinion on that. I marked the ticket for 3.0

Thanks! If anyone has strong opinions for or against please leave them on the ticket
      • (or here ofc)
