I just entered https://tickets.metabrainz.org/browse/PICARD-3104 which I think shouldn't be too difficult to implement in the v2 plugin system. I plan to start looking at this to see what I can do with it. outsidecontext, Is this something worth considering including in the new v3 plugin system that you're developing?

rdswift: Yes, that's a good point. I remember there was some discussion about this in the past, but no ticket. Thanks for creating this, I targetted it for the v3 release
