just managed to fix the CI for the new plugins branch and adapting it for latest code changes. I hope to be finally back on track

@zas I did a couple of small adjustment and fixed to the new build setup yesterday. But I must say that using both uv and ruff generally was a great move. Makes things overall way easier to handle.
