in the meantime, per the actions/runner-images issue linked in the error, we still have some time before macos-13-based tests fail outright (fully unsupported by december 8th), but i assume your test fell into one of the "brownout periods" listed in the issue

in the meantime, a new tested floor of macos-14 (branded "sonoma") should *still* support a decent slate of mac models (ref: [wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacOS_So…) from as far back as 2017 but usually 2018

tahoe and successors will be when the compat window lurches forward a few years to basically apple silicon-only minus a few exceptions, but judging by the yardstick of ~3 years since announced release before ventura went eol for containers, i don't think we'll see pre-tahoe releases go EOL until late 2027 or so
