After a decade on MB I would say that databases like this tend to attract neuro-diverse people
While early on I thought it was "opinionated people with big egos"
I have much more patience for other editors now tbh <3

super strong opinions about esoteric topics can be read in various ways, for sure

aerozol: I do agree to an extent (I think it attracts both), but we should be clear that the two aren't linked!
also what I found helpful was to assume that a person is writing english as a second language unless confirmed otherwise, as this helps me to me much more patient and not jump to conclusions based on how a comment was worded
appaently some magazine that is *publishing on bandcamp* :D

Oh man my timezone really throws off these convos, but atj: absolutely, neuro-diverse should, by definition as far as I can gather, not be lumped in with any specific positive or negative attributes!
which I guess I did... but I think it's more about how online communication, particularly on MB, can make some neuro-diverse aspects come across as opinionated
I like the "assume english as second language" approach as well, very much the same result, less expectation to have peoples edit notes etc conform to my expectations
(secretly trying to encourage everyone to apply the same to my notes and posts ahaha)
atj: thanks for your reply to my note, I've approved those album edits
