" In his new EP, Lipelis, who is also TMO (hello, Discogs diggers, you know it!), delivers warm and groovy studio experiments "
hrm, if a soundcloud set has only snippets, should it be linked as "stream for free" ?
I'd guess probably not, because that's technically a separate release?

derwin: it's a new release with "promotional" imho
derwin
I am just not going to enter it at all, because I don't care
but yeah.

musicbrainz and beets both seem to really focus on structureing things by album. This makes total sense for archiving and collecting, but I don't think its very user friendly. Is there any guides on using a track based workflow?

kmerfeld: Musicbrainz does not really have such a thing, but you can use Picard to tag standalone recordings without associating them to releases

Updating Jira server in 45min, tickets will be unavailable for a few tens of minutes.

I have something that works with beets, its just not quite ideal
elomatreb[m]
Are there any specific problems with your setup?
kmerfeld
searching mostly. If I want album art I cant import with track mode. I dont ususally know/care about which album a song is from
elomatreb[m]
As in searching the Musicbrainz database?
kmerfeld
yes, searching it with beets usually. the website isn't the nicest to search in too
i've purchased and downloaded it, and discovered that all of the tracks have different embedded images https://imgur.com/OlFzQYJ.png
i was looking for a way to upload all of the images into musicbrainz but there isn't a way to specify which track is associated with a specific image, am i wrong?
(this happened to me in other occasions like for instance a release from nine inch nails)
Lotheric
I'd upload those images under the release, you can add a comment to each image

leonardo: +1 on what Lotheric said. Upload the images, set their type as "Track", and specify in the comment which track(s) it applies to
That's what the Enhanced Cover Art Uploads userscript does for Bandcamp track-specific images (although it won't work for that release, custom bandcamp domains aren't supported yet)
