Hi. I am Eshaan Aggarwal, a Computer Science Engineering sophomore from IIT Varanasi, India. I am a full-stack developer and want to collaborate on MusicBrainz for the upcoming GSoC '23. Can anyone point me to how I can get started for the same?
I would add it as a second "digital media" medium and explain that it is a download in the release annotation.

how would I add it like that?
I do not want to do the whole typing again

Edit the release then go to Tracklist and "add medium" (down at the bottom). Add the one track and specify that the medium is "Digital Media".
You can also edit the Annotation which already indicated it is limited to 500 copies to say it included a download of the mp3
Looks good (assuming the download includes all the tracks and not just the bonus track). I learned something new, I hadn't known about the Download Card Format!
momoninja
done.
how do I get this into picard now.
Cheezmo
A couple of other editing tips for the future. The "A" in "Under a Charm" should not be capitalized and extra title information like "Radio Edit" also should not be capitalized. Perhaps review the style guidelines on that. I'll fix those real quick for you.
momoninja
I copied the information from discogs
Cheezmo
They have different capitalization rules.
momoninja
ok
also how do I get the download card tracks now in picard?
Cheezmo
If you refresh the release in Picard (under the Tools menu) it should reload it with your changes.
normally I copy the URI into picard by dragging it into it
Cheezmo
Then just remove the one that is already in Picard and re-add it the way you normally do, it should get your new edits.
But reload should work if it was already loaded in Picard.
momoninja
but then picard now thinks it is a 9 track record
for me it is two records. 1 digital with 5 tracks and one physical with 4 tracks
Cheezmo
It is one release, the vinyl will be tagged as disc 1 the mp3's as disc 2.
momoninja
yes.
but in picard the record now looks incomplete, when I add the songs.
Cheezmo
Unless you rip the EP and add those tracks, it is incomplete. That is just how it is.
I have tons of hybrid SACDs and only rip the SACD layer and it ends up the same way. I just had to accept that everything isn't "complete". Hard for obsessive types, right?
momoninja
thanks for the info
ocd kicks in

In principle we could produce disc IDs for SACDs. They have a predictable structure and lots of metadata stored on disc.

Cheezmo: I would have said to do a new release for the digital download album personally, but approaches vary with these cases
