Just wanted to ask, whats the point of setting up my page on the site if nothing is ever going to show up in my media player? Am i doing something wrong or what?
Not one single song of mine gets autotagged. Im starting to get really irritated with it.

stvrchldofficial: I'm not a heavy user of musicbrainz, but I don't understand what you're talking about. Could you elaborate?
(basically, what page, and what media player, and what's meant to get autotagged?)
It's done the same again. Is it a huge wall of text perhaps?
stvrchldofficial
Its a couple paragraphs
ill do it one at a time
I submitted about 120 edits, including the creation of my artist profile, my entire discography, images, everything. And after all the edits have been applied, and waiting 72 hours, not one piece of content is showing up.
The media player im trying to use this with is MediaMonkey. Literally everything else autotags correctly, except for my ow music. All im trying to do is have my Artwork, artist name, and titles fetched, and it wont even do that.
I tried to register on Matrix to access the direct chatroom, but registration is disabled

fwiw, I see your page fine on musicbrainz. I wonder if it's just not updated at mediamonkey? Maybe they use a cache of musicbrainz, and it's not updating for some reason?
stvrchldofficial
I'll clear whatever cache the app has and ill pm the results
virtualsid
please don't pm - I'm not an expert here. I'm not sure it's a problem at the musicbrainz end, that's all.
stvrchldofficial
I understand. I don't know whats going on either. I thought this was the place where maybe someone had run into this issue before.
virtualsid
Just reading up, I don't think it's been mentioned recently, sorry :(
crism
stvrchldofficial: at a quick look, you have a bunch of single release groups, with one release each… but no tracks on the releases!
stvrchldofficial
How do I do this correctly?
virtualsid
oops, good spot, crism
I thought I saw one track in each, but now I realise I wasn't going down enough
crism
Depending on where your music is available, using a userscript to load your music (from Bandcamp, YouTube, or whatever) might be fastest.
Otherwise, edit a release, and under the Tracklist tab add one or more tracks. Give the track (recording) title, artist, and length there.
Also the format: are these CD singles or digital media releases?
stvrchldofficial
I wouldnt know how to write a userscript for that purpose. And they are digital media releases. I have no physical distribution. Gotta love the modern day, amiright?
Will i have to erase duplicates after using the userscript?
And if going from youtube, do I do releases or recordings?
And how do I specify the target?
virtualsid
which script are you using, stvrchldofficial? I'm no expert, but I don't mind trying the workflow alongside you and seeing if together it makes more sense :)
stvrchldofficial
I'm trying to look at the Youtube scripts for either releases or recordings
I just looked into trying to submit AcousID fingerprints, but its complicated and I still have 0 freaking clue how to make a fingerprint to begin with.
crism
stvrchldofficial: Can you give us an example of one place your recordings can be found?
Hmm… well, the YouTube userscripts don’t seem to do anything for me. Welp.
So I would go to the release, edit it, and add the track to the tracklist with its length, and set the medium to digital release and the packaging to None. Add the YouTube link to the release as well.
stvrchldofficial
Ive already followed those steps, but nothing will show up still. Pretty sure I need a fingerprint assosiated with the release, but i have absolutely no clue how to do that.
I don't recall adding fingerprints for the very few (3?) things I've added... ps. I used this https://github.com/RustyNova016/MusicBrainz-Use... and it gave me an 'add to musicbrainz' button below the main video window, and it pre-populated a whole bunch of fields seemingly correctly.
I can’t find any other information on how MediaMonkey uses MusicBrainz.

Your music seems to be on Spotify as well. IMO it's much easier to use that with https://harmony.pulsewidth.org.uk/ to add your music to MusicBrainz in the future.
crism
That page seems to advocate for using Picard for tagging against MusicBrainz, which I would recommend, too.
metadataismydrug: +1
stvrchldofficial
I was unaware that this tool existed. Let me try it.
Im able to import, but metadata does not fetch in the media app, still

stvrchldofficial: I think you need help from the MediaMonkey community. The data looks OK in MusicBrainz to me.
stvrchldofficial
Will do. Thank you for yalls help. It may not have been extraordinarily fruitful, but we got somewhere tonight.
I have yall sleep well, and have a great day tomorrow

stvrchldofficial (@_discord_1038164832022700252:chatbrainz.org) I'm looking at your edits, there's a lot of work needed - it might be best for visiblity for you to respond in-line to my comments I am putting forwad on MusicBrainz vs here
sound.and.vision (@_discord_250311742364581888:chatbrainz.org) I viewed your comments that you posted. I'd like for everything to appear as Shadows does, but I'm having the issue I mentioned in the notes just now, in response to the edit you asked me to take care of.
Can you walk me through how to catalog these correctly? You mentioned that deleting entries can sometimes break stuff so I'd rather do this right, then mess up a bunch of things trying to restart.
For clarification, the temp release group was my attempt to merge my release groups in hopes of being able to mass delete everything, but I now see that it may have been the wrong move to make. It is my inexperience with the service at play.

stvrchldofficial: maybe take this edit note discussion to, the edit notes? you can reply to sound.and.vision in the edit notes, that makes it more likely that they will reply, (espsince they're soundandvision here)
