I don’t think we are using it and I don’t know the status. luks?
ruaok
ah, ok. I guess we should nuke that comment or adopt mbslave.
chirlu wonders how AcoustID gets it replicated data at the moment.
Mike_Aiir
How much space does a full installation usually take up? My InitDb ended up failing with a load of "Cannot write: No space left on device" messages
chirlu
With or without edit data?
ruaok
the import takes considerably more space than the final install.
Mike_Aiir
yeah, i did have the edit data
i just got all the dumps
ruaok
unless you intend to use the edit data, there is not point in importing it.
Mike_Aiir
what exactly is the edit data?
ruaok
import editor, that dump is important. but not edits
it is all of MB's 16 edit history.
+year
Mike_Aiir
ah poop, ha, yeah. If i just get the main required ones mbdump, mbdump-editor, mbdump-derived what sort of space are we looking at?
ruaok
if you can, give it 50GB at least.
100GB just to be on the safe side. :)
you'll also need to build search indexes which will also use more space later.
Mike_Aiir
ahh, yeah may need to increase the space :) cheers
ruaok
man, how many times am I going to get rickrolled reading GSoC applications? :-D
Gentlecat
uh, only 4 days left
ruaok
the AB proposal looks good.
typhoe has quit
the LB is ok too.
but, so few applications? sheesh.

reosarevok: Regarding your simple table approach to notifications, that might work somewhat for one site (MB). But for getting and displaying notifications from/on multiple sites (CB, AB, BB, you name it), MB would need API endpoints for posting, retrieving, marking as read, …

Gentlecat
there is one for picard too
reosarevok sighs. My French is completely gone, writing that tiny support mail answer took way too long and it's still probably awful :D

mr-karan_: are you planning to submit a GSoC proposal for BB? :)

i installed letsencrypt cert on acousticbrainz.org, should i make it https only ?
we can probably redirect the non API calls to https, but I would strongly urge for you to wait for alastairp to chime in. but, he is really busy this week. next week?
\ø/
Excellent, zas!

BrainzBot
You're doing good work, zas!
zas
auto renew is set up too
i just duplicated http conf to https for now, we'll see with alastairp if changes are needed

ruaok: did you see we had nagios alerts on babar _and _ spike this morning (around 4:04-4:31). I checked logs, nothing, so i guess it was a temporary load issue
alastairp
hmm, both
ruaok
I think it was a net disconnect between the US and the EU, but I didn't check uptimes.
alastairp
when you do report load? (at what value)
I was pushing load on spike up to ~15 last night
ruaok
babar wasn't rebooted.
I think this was a net disconnect that causes nagios to freak
zas
nope, they weren't
i think too
perhaps a network load isssue on one side
alastairp
redirect of AB to https should be OK
ruaok
even for the API calls?
alastairp
I agree with ruaok about API calls maybe being problematic
ruaok
I think it would be bad form for us to redirect automatically.
zas
alastairp: is nginx conf for acousticbrainz managed by something (ie. chef or script) ?
alastairp
perhaps we just give people a month or so notice
ruaok
I would post a blog entry saying that in 3 months we will.
hi guys... is there an easy way to get a list of tracks for a release group from the database? i tried using l_recording_release_group but the table is empty
ruaok
I bet they are using MB. time to keep an eye on these folks, chrisskye
mootwo: you need to fetch a list of releases in the release group and select a release.
then you can fetch the tracks for the release.
chrisskye
What is the company name? “washable"
“mashable
mootwo
ruaok: ok thanks
ruaok
chrisskye: Music Reports
mashable is the site reporting on it.
chrisskye
ok
And...where is Tidal in our systems...memory lapse...
mootwo
ruaok: the l_release_release_group table is also empty... am i looking in the wrong place?
ruaok
mootwo: yes you are.
alastairp
mootwo: you probably want release.release_group
ruaok
stop looking in l_ tables, they do not contain what you're looking for.
chrisskye: Tidal has admitted to using our data on twitter.
that's it.
mootwo
ruaok: there is no release.release_group table in my database
oh duhr
sorry pls ignore that
ruaok
:)
mootwo
ruaok: ok so i have a list of releases for my release_group... how to connect a release to its recording(s)? sorry im not seeing the connection
