KodeStar: /preview is coming from KODI scrapper. Should be the author be contacted?
I am reading KODI (old XBMC) database and sending out emails with films. I use the thumbnails record to include a picture of the films. If "/preview" is not valid, scrapper needs to be updated
not sure who the author is, Martijn isn't showing up on my pidgin so not sure who else to speak to, however, could you not edit the urls yourself before sending the email?
yeah, i didn't notice the twitter handle until you posted that link :P
as in are your servers with ovh direct, or on soyoustart (also ovh but cheaper, older servers and less support)
well, I say less support, -90% of zero is still zero :P

My server is old but it has extra features like KVM, etc
but is quite expensive. Like 3000 €/year
KodeStar
ouch
jcea
Yes, this situation is perfect to reconsider things
KodeStar
the 2 we have through SYS are ~£36/mo for one and ~£58/mo for the other
jcea
well, this have several harddisks, several SSDs, tons of RAM, 8 cores... :-p
but yes, expensive
legacy, you know
KodeStar
yeah, ours are much more sinple than that
we also have a server with online.net thats ~16euros a month
and all that handles over 1.5billion requests a month
jcea
I know, but I need memory, cpu and hardisk (for the space) and ssd (for the speed). Web and email is not the main usage for this machine
currently even thinking about hosting this at home
My parents have fiber at home 50mbps simetric. Thinking about it
I travel a lot, so hosting it at my own place is risky
KodeStar
yeah, the main API server has more cpu (E5-1650) + 64GB ram 2 x 3TB spinners, than the main site which has an E3-1245, 3 x 300GB SSDs and 32GB RAM, then the online.net one is just a varnish server so has a 200GB SSD, 16GB RAM and C2750 (Avoton)
jcea
I am just shy of two months out of town, for example
do you have a link to your server configuration?
anyway, OVH support is a joke. There is no support at all
so one with 3 x 300GB SSDs they don't sell at the moment
*the one
jcea
my usual approach is "they are CHEAP. Just rent a new server and move your stuff there", but this particular server has a particular hardware configuration and migration would be really painful.
This machine is expensive but migration would be even more expensive and risky. I am trying to get a new mainboard, and I have learned that the only way they pay attention is thru twitter, funny enough
I need both, harddisks and ssds :)
ZFS is amazing
