<04shisma.> is there a reason why 🎵 Listening now section doesn't have Love/Hate buttons?
<04shisma.> that's the one place where I need it

<04shisma.> I think it's because the listen doesn't have an associated recording at that point 🤔

<04elomatreb> @shisma. yes, if your submission includes a recording MBID the love/hate buttons are shown
<04elomatreb> if the submission is just artist/title, it has to resolve the recording first, and I guess the idea is that you don't want to delay the Now Playing status update while that is processing

We will look at ways to make things more clear at least :)
discordbrainz
<05rustynova> TIL two listens can have the same msid but not the same mapping... Anyways, how long does it takes for a mapped listen to get remapped to something else? Not on the stats, but the actual listen

Hi there ! Does anyone knows why my weekly recommendations are actually 2 weeks stale ? I tried to make a python script to download them each week but the playlist does not update, which is obviously not ideal :

same for my exploration list
jams are stuck on 2024-09-16 though
snap2[m]
Erf it sucks honestly, maybe I should go to the dark non-FOSS side and modify my script to get last.fm recommendations instead (or both, downloading only the weekly explo if the name has changed since last week)
Is the problem recurring ? Or this is just a momentary bug
elkiensad[m]
I am sinning enough already (by using Spotify)
snap2[m]
* momentary bug ?
elkiensad[m]
snap2[m]: does not happen frequently
it is something about slow database something caching stuff ig
snap2[m]
Ok that is nice to know, I will just have a name check before downloading the playlist songs then
Thanks for the quick and useful answers !
elkiensad[m]
better answers probably TBA
yw though

I'll share my script here when it is done (automatic retrieval of weekly recommend, yt-dlp download, auto-tagging, navidrome integration, automatic deletions of disliked songs each week, love/hate feedback based on user rating)
elkiensad[m]
even lidarr integration, maybe?

It’d be cool to manage everything via LB
snap2[m]
I was thinking about it but honestly I hate Lidarr haha, the interface sucks, it is not that reliable and it is sooo messy. I also do not like how hard it is to download single tracks or searching for them. I like the idea though
* idea though, but the implementation is pretty terrible imho
elkiensad[m]
never used it but it is hard to find music releases automatically
ones that not on streaming at least
snap2[m]
The torrent ecosystem is messy by design, even if I like it, but for music not so much
Something like IPFS for music could be dope actually but it is not used enough yet
elkiensad[m]
music is just too messy
snap2[m]
elkiensad[m]: A python script using Musicbrainz DB could be probably implemented relatively easily I suppose ? That is probably less complex that what I am working on rn
elkiensad[m]
for auto-tagging?
snap2[m]
To check new releases of every artist in the library (or only liked ones) since the last script run and download these releases
But I'll not do it haha, or maybe in months, I have too much stuff to work on these days sadly and uni started again ;-;
elkiensad[m]
snap2[m]: I think it is manageable thing to do
snap2[m]
Honestly yes, and that would be pretty useful, but Lidarr works for me rn, and even if I do not like it, it works most of the time and it is pretty much fire and forget
elkiensad[m]
Servarr stuff is like that
which I like
snap2[m]
Automations are nice but when they are managed by painful UI, multiple containers and complex logic, it is not a great experience to me
* to me. Especially to handle unreliable torrents.
Well have a gn, it was nice talking to you and see you soon
elkiensad[m]
snap2[m]: right, something like Jackett as a tool is better for me too
not full automation but maybe some, with RSS, also very good search engine
snap2[m]: good night, thanks & same goes for u. cya
