        I just realized that navidrome doesn't scrobble when dsub2000 is playing from local cache. Ofc, why would this subsonic client even talk to the server when it doesn't need to 😭

        anomie_: Manual addition and Link with MusicBrainz should work fine with URLs? Album URLs though - recordings can be attached to multiple albums so I’m not sure how it would work otherwise

        <anomie_[m]> "I mean like these URLs..." <- Unfortunately there is no endpoint in the MusicBrainz API to look up a track by its MBID (tracks are not considered one of the main entities). The website redirects you the the right release + recording from the track MBID, but we have no way of doing that programmatically as far as I know.

        Goemon (IRC): it has to do with a matrix standards change from a while back... if you're not coming from an "authenticated" client, the media links made in the room won't resolve properly (this is called the "authenticated media" spec in matrix land)
      • hopefully the gsoc project jade is working on w/ me will help with this, if only in that it'll consume a copy of the images to redisplay in chatlogs

        Getting the IRC bridge to use a different media source would be a different project
      • Although perhaps you could do some reverse proxy wrangling to make the old media endpoints redirect to the log's media store
