@ruaok: Hi Robert, I've put out an APB for a USB drive here (you'd think we'd have one laying around somewhere) on our IM channel. I also checked, baron does not have a CD drive mounted. I might have to pull off of this for the moment and handoff to the day shift if that's alright with you. I'm not sure anyone is awake right now to direct me to our stash of USB drives.

@ruaok: In the mean time, I'll keep looking and if I find one, install the new distro. If not, I'll put everything in our handoff channel and in the ticket comments for T20160113.0017

Hrm, I don't think I understand the DB schema. What I'd like to do is, for a given recording, get the date of its first release, and the artist. But I can't see how you get a list of releases for a recording from http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/-/images/5/52/ngs.png ?

So we have pingu back? Can we now think of using dagon to serve website only?
      • 2016-01-13 01312, 2016

      • ruaok
pingu is one of the most powerful machines, it should go back into the web pool.
      • 2016-01-13 01333, 2016

      • ruaok
and then we can take jiji back out. but overall the throughput will change a bit once pingu is back.

We were talking the other day of having a (less powerful) server exclusively dealing with the site (no ws)

but the idea was to use 5 web servers: 4 for ws, and 1 for website
      • 2016-01-13 01356, 2016

      • zas
but we need a spare "website" server
      • 2016-01-13 01338, 2016

      • zas
so basically it is 5 web servers and play with nginx load balancer to route queries where they should
      • 2016-01-13 01331, 2016

      • zas
the idea behind this was to improve user experience with the website isn't it ?

      • reosarevok
Yeah, we're having quite a few complaints that it's pretty slow

stanislas: It looks like the PUT method is trying to update the elasticsearch index but can't find an ES server. EditionData.country_id should work OK but it isn't used by the site at the moment. Your 400 error is probably because edition requires publication_gid to be set.

stanislas: what was your question about that?
      • 2016-01-13 01311, 2016

LordSputnik: That in bbschema/entity.py language_id is set in WorkData.create
      • 2016-01-13 01313, 2016

      • stanislas
LordSputnik: It isn't present in WorkData.update, so it should be deleted or added to WorkData.update as well
