kartikgupta0909: what did you put in the config file?
note in the readme, there's a bit about how to add the config directory to your home directory, which should owrk
work
ruaok
zas: got invoice?
kartikgupta0909
alastairp: I put a file abzsubmit.conf in the directory ~/.abzsubmit, with the line host: localhost:8080
is it correct?
I changed the default.conf, and put it in the ~/.abzsubmit directory as abzsubmit.conf

BB meeting in 5, thought you might want to be there for it.
stanislas
ok, thanks

Thanks for the ping :D

Shall we begin?
Leo_Verto
Sure
LordSputnik
<BANG>
So, how's everyone been doing lately?
Leftmost
Last couple of weeks have been rough here in Leftpondia, but things are looking up a bit.
Unfortunately, I have essentially nothing to report at present, but hopefully I can change that for the next meeting. :)
Leo_Verto
My last few weeks have been okay though busy but I didn't get any sleep last night
alastairp
kartikgupta0909: if you’ve already submitted once, you’ll have to delete the cache (or submit different tracks)
LordSputnik
I've been doing a little bit this week, improving the -data-js package, adding some more tests and working out how to do the revisions on the front page now that we don't use polymorphism
alastairp
it won’t submit the same filename twice
Leo_Verto
I haven't really done any BB related work except for hanging around on IRC and helping with various GCI stuff
kartikgupta0909
alastairp: oh okay, thanks for the info :)
stanislas
I am planning and writing python-bookbrainz for now.
Leo_Verto
This is our first post-GCI meeting, isn't it?
LordSputnik
It's quite tricky, but now I'm geting a list of each type of entity sorted by revision time, then combining those
Leo_Verto: yup
abpnd12 joined the channel
The benefit of doing recent changes that way is that we won't get duplicate entities in the list anymore :)
Leo_Verto
Well, I'd like to applaud both your plan of using GCI to get someone to write tons of tests and stanislas for doing exactly that :P
LordSputnik
stanislas: any news on the python-bb plan? :)
stanislas
I've decided to merge Entity and EntityData and use a simplified model in pybb.
LordSputnik
stanislas: that's a good idea :)
stanislas
Not because I don't know what is the difference
LordSputnik
Especially since the WS won't tell them apart
Leo_Verto
Merging them is also probably the more pythonic approach
LordSputnik
So, I'm expecting we'll have a February release
At this point I'm not sure whether direct-database will be ready or not, but there isn't a *huge* amount of work to be done
Leftmost
LordSputnik, what remains to be done before -data-js is production-ready? (Though I understand there'd still be work to do in -site.)
stanislas
And I was thinking also of adding the next level of inheritance in bookbrainz-ws :)
It would make it clearer
LordSputnik
When we release this, the current webservice will go down, and will stay down until we've written a node replacement, so we'll have to start working on that ASAP
stanislas: what do you mean?
Leftmost: Well, mainly tests for models, I think. I've got a few models I haven't committed because I wanted to have tests to go with them
Leftmost
Are there any pieces missing from the SQL definitions right now or is that all in place?
stanislas
a) adding a class that would keep mutual parts of put/post checking and generating
b) moving entity stuff checking to EntityTesting class
LordSputnik
Leftmost: no that seems to be holding up quite well
Leftmost
Cool.
stanislas
But I don't have any intentions of actually doing that, maybe when it will be ported.
LordSputnik
stanislas: Hmm, I wouldn't bother doing any major architectural improvements to the WS testing right now, when the python-ws is about to become obsolete
stanislas: yeah, as you say, after it's ported
Leftmost
If we can get direct-database merged into master this month, I'd be a very happy Leftmost.
Leo_Verto
I'm very much looking forward to python-bb, might even contribute a bit if I find the time for that
Erm, actually, I'm going to have to leave now, something's come up (nothing bad!)
Leftmost: take over! :P
Leo_Verto
Hmm, you could use task lists for that so you can check off finished items :D
Leftmost
I see two major threads of development for once direct-database is merged: WS and UX. I think we need to work on those in parallel and it would be good to spend some time picking those apart to see what needs done.
ZaphodBeeblebrox
oh hai
LordSputnik
See if you guys can come up with a fairly realistic plan for the next 6 months, and also try to work out what we can do by February's release (somewhere between 8th and 15th Feb)
ZaphodBeeblebrox
is the bb meeting still now?
stanislas
yes, it is
ZaphodBeeblebrox
\o/
LordSputnik
ZaphodBeeblebrox: yup, but I've got to dash off so Leftmost will be running it ;)
Leftmost
It is, BeebleCat.

Leo_Verto
"Work on data importing from other sites (OpenLibrary, Amazon, Wikipedia)" I think we recently had a discussion about that
stanislas, want to mention your client idea during the meeting, just for the record?
stanislas
Yeah, that's gonna wait after pybb is done.
Leftmost
pybb depends on the WS, so we can fold that into WS discussion.
stanislas
Leo_Verto: What do you mean exactly ?
Leftmost
Checking Jira to see what we have open and if there are any smaller issues we can address for the Feb release.
I think the best thing to do would be to have a small release for mid-February and use the remainder of the month to finish up and test the heck out of the SQL revamp.
Leo_Verto
stanislas, your vision of the Qt client
stanislas
Oh, I thought we are talking about python-bookbrainz, let me think
Leftmost
Do any of you (stan, Leo, BeebleCat) have small (probably UI-focused) bugs or features you think need/ought to be addressed this month?
BeebleCat
hhmnn.. let me think
Leftmost
(My thinking for planning is to move chronologically.)
