        and it was done ;)
      • Freso
        🙌
      • Gentlecat
now we have a new ubuntu there, hopefully postgres and python will get an update as well
      • I also updated sentry there
      • then I fixed a bunch of issues with mbspotify and CB which prevented creating new mappings
      • reviewed pull requests
      • ruaok
(and what a clustfuck for the whole familiy that was!! woo!)
      • Gentlecat
then bitmap helped me go through list of tickets that I can work on again
      • and fixed MBS-6511
      • fun. alastairp?
      • alastairp
        hi
      • CatQuest
I miss the bot posting full urls for those tickets
      • Freso too
      • alastairp
I’ve been hacking on AB with Gentlecat
      • LordSputnik
Freso: mine took 1 minute, mostly because I had pre-written what I was going to say - I guess we could ask everyone to do that and post it at reading-pace?
      • alastairp
over the weekend I merged all the data to postgres9.5
      • Freso
LordSputnik: I actually made a "notes" document. So didn't have it pre-written, but I had set up what I wanted to say and the order to say it in.
      • alastairp
I hope to launch it tomorrow, after I double-check that the data wasn’t altered during the migration
      • Freso
(Also for my two topics following the reviews.)
      • alastairp
we’re also clearing up some easy-to-fix bugs around dataset creation to make it a little easier to use. I’m going to get some students to build some datasets this week
      • Gentlecat hides
      • and I’m writing some blog posts for AB. getting back into the swing of things now. We have some neat plans for the next 6 months or so
      • Freso
"I’m going to get some students to" … :D
      • chirlu` appears (nothing particular to present).
      • alastairp
        that’s it
      • Freso
        Always nice with minions.
      • zas: Go!
      • Maybe...
      • zas
Well, this week was not a good one for me, lost a good friend, as some of you know, so i passed most of the week crying, then went to funeral ceremony etc...
      • Freso checks list
      • Freso
        Oh.
      • CatQuest
        :(
      • zas
So apart usual updates, random fixes, discourse domain name change, not much
      • chrisskye hugs
      • CatQuest
        condolences
      • zas
i would like to thank ruaok who understood the situation, and was very kind with me
      • Thanks all
      • Freso
(Anyone who wants to report anything, please speak up now, or we'll move on after zas.)
      • ruaok
        :)
      • your situation was far shittier than mine.
      • Freso
zas: Like I said before, RL stuff > internet stuff
      • jerin has left the channel
      • CatQuest
        ja jøss
      • reosarevok is trying to teach himself that
      • .. uhm
      • CatQuest purrs liek a cat for zas?
      • reosarevok
        (RL stuff > internet stuff)
      • ruaok
oh meh. I managed to leave home without a USB cable.
      • gcilou
( just worked on a bunch of random icons and easy tickets nothing too interesting )
      • reosarevok
Which means also that I might not be on *all the time* for a while, just fairly often :p
      • zas: hug
      • Freso
gcilou: And thank you for that :)
      • Okay.
      • Freso, you're up!
      • CatQuest

      • CatQuest
        🎊
      • Gentlecat
        cool
      • Freso
I'll make a @MetaBrainz tweet about it in a bit (perhaps post-meeting), but the list of organisations have been revealed. (And I also just got an e-mail that we're accepted.)
      • LordSputnik
        !m Freso
      • BrainzBot
        You're doing good work, Freso!
      • LordSputnik
I would retweet your MeB tweet, but sadly, no BB twitter :(
      • CatQuest
        :/
      • ynot?
      • Freso
The first couple of mentors have been invited, but just to make sure I don't invite someone who no longer wants to be a mentor, please poke me if you want to be a mentor.
      • I think LordSputnik and Leftmost at least said they might want to be. Others might too.
      • ruaok hopes he gets to be a mentor
      • Poke me and we'll figure things out. :)
      • ruaok: But you're already an admin, so I can't invite you to be a mentor. :p
      • Okay. That's it for that subject. There'll be more updates on this later. :)
      • Freso again!
      • Discourse!
      • ruaok
which means you can't uninvite me. \ø/
      • Freso
        Woo!
      • Wait, what??
      • Darn!
      • CatQuest
        hahahaha
      • Freso
zas moved out temp. discourse.meb domain to http://community.metabrainz.org/
      • It is still in "testing" stage, but I'm pretty happy with it as it is, so I'm thinking to make a blog post about it tomorrow (1st day of (N. hemisphere) spring!), "officially" releasing it to the masses.
      • CatQuest
        ides of march :D
      • Freso
One thing I would really like though, as we discovered earlier, is that usernames are kept in sync between MB.o and Discourse, but the current OAuth2 implementation cannot enforce this.
      • ruaok
        spring already? crap.
      • LordSputnik
Freso: feel free to invite me :)
      • Freso
So I would like to know if we could implement a Discourse SSO backend in MBS? ( https://meta.discourse.org/t/official-single-si... )
      • (luks brought it up again earlier.)
      • kartikgupta0909 joined the channel
      • bitmap
        sure, why not
      • chirlu`
The meterological spring. Real spring doesn’t start for another three weeks.
      • LordSputnik
Freso: how easy is it? Is it something opatel might like to do?
      • Freso
This could also solve http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/MBS-8835 in that the SSO endpoint could return a custom value for whether a user is autoeditor or not, which could be utilised by a Discourse plugin.
      • LordSputnik: It might be.
      • reosarevok
Is this something that could also be used later in jira or wherever?
      • Freso
        reosarevok: Probably not. :/
      • bitmap: ❤️
      • reosarevok: I think the Discourse SSO endpoint is very Discourse oriented, but I may be wrong.
      • Anyway.
      • I've disabled changing of e-mails now on Discourse (we agreed earlier to let users use different e-mail addresses for the two), as we can move freely between OAuth2 and Discourse SSO as long as the e-mail addresses match.
      • So we can go ahead with "releasing" tomorrow and integrate Discourse SSO at a later point.
      • If anyone objects, please raise your hands. :)
      • *hand
      • Or both. Or foot/feet.
      • TOPIC: MetaBrainz Community and Development channel | MusicBrainz non-development: #musicbrainz | MeB meeting agenda: logo details (MBS-8830 etc., OTHER-246) (chirlu); DR “nostalgia edition”: MBS-6396, MBS-7501, MBS-7564
      • reosarevok
Not an objection as such, but is there any way to make the front page a bit more organised than just "all recent posts for every category"?
      • CatQuest
        yes!
      • Freso
reosarevok: Make a post in the "site suggestions" or feedback or what it's called. ;)
      • Anyway. Motion carried. bitmap, I'll make an MBS ticket and assign to you about the endpoint?
      • chirlu`: logo details (MBS-8830 etc., OTHER-246)
      • bitmap
        yeah, that's fine
      • chirlu`
This is basically a DR topic.
      • LordSputnik
reosarevok: I know what you mean, I'd personally prefer the "Categories" page on the front, if we can set it
      • chirlu`
We need to decide how much logo detail we want to use a) in page headers, b) in favicons.
      • Freso
      • chirlu`
Currently, the page headers mostly use the no-detail version (only split hexagon with colours).
      • Some favicons also use the no-detail version, some use the a-few-details version.
      • reosarevok
I'd use at least the medium kind of detail, if not the one the discourse one has
      • ruaok
        which is incorrect.
      • that level of detail is for use with icons only.
      • reosarevok
(which seems even a bit too detailed for the size)
      • Freso
reosarevok: Yeah, I'm working with gcilou to decrease the details on the Discourse one.
      • But something's amiss somewhere between her Illustrator and Inkscape.
      • stanislas
LordSputnik: I've added a topic for data importing app and included there our decisions/ideas. See https://community.metabrainz.org/t/data-importi...
      • gcilou
      • Freso
But yeah, I'm also in favour of moving to mid or full details logos.
      • gcilou
        png version
      • reosarevok
        Oh, that looks nice
      • LordSputnik
my worry with mid-size logos for page headers is will they look too cluttered? Do any sites use them at the moment, so I can have a look?
      • Freso
        LordSputnik: No.
      • ruaok
        FSM! :)
      • Freso
All sites currently use no detail logos.
