        reosarevok: WP uses $Key Mixolydian.

reosarevok: Funny thing is, WP is using "$Key minor" and "$Key major"...

Well, yeah, I think it's because Dorian or Lydian are like English or French

I mean, they're groups of people after all

        FWIW, thesession.org does "$Key$mode".

reosarevok: all keys (sharps/flats included) are available in all modes in theory, but they are not necessarily used in practice.

As for capitalization, I don't bother, as long as there is some consistency: at least, [Dd]orian and [Mm]ixolydian should have the same capitalization as they both are modes of the same family.
      • 2016-05-29 15036, 2016

      • ybsar
For example, I know many people who capitalizes 'Major' and not 'minor' to distinguish more easily, but they don't use other modes.

ybsar: "all keys (sharps/flats included) are available in all modes" - I've argued this before, but as it is now, we're adding key/modes on an "as needed" basis.

Freso: I was answering "Plus wouldn't we still need a list of what combinations are acceptable for each mode?" This should not be a stopper into separating keys from modes.
      • 2016-05-29 15015, 2016

      • ybsar
But I am okay with the current list of keys/modes for now, since it fits the needs. :)
