as per my discussion yesterday, running ./script/compile_resources.sh before npm install messes up the css/js/web interface. any pointers on how I can generate them (ui) correctly?

how is it possible to get MBID's for data that does not exist in MB? this would be interesting indeed

pingupingu: You can add them to MB and they'll get MBIDs. :)

the search server took a good 6-8hours to populate the indices

btw.. I remember you can run musicbrainz in non-debug mode.. but I dont seem to remember that option, any quick pointers?

Isn't there an option like DEBUGMODE or some such?

Yes , I have good experience in python so I was particularly thinking of ListenBrainz

nikunj_: Note that the "getting started" page specifically lists some non-development/code things to do before actually starting to code.

you should probably start by contributing data to MusicBrainz, seeing as most of the other projects are related to it in some way or another

Since the "Get inspired" part asks them to look for tickets for software they may not be familiar with until they "Get involved"?

Freso, yeah, I went back and forth on that. "Get involved" kinda depends on which project(s) you're interested in.

Well, unless you're doing something on with BookBrainz you need to deal with MBIDs and MB data.

So you need to understand at some level what the different entities are.
