Set up a newly made mailing list for mb user/account admins, which is basically irrelevant to anyone but me, but eh.
Dealt with some reported editors.
Published the first set of meeting notes (for last week's meeting) in several months!

You're doing good work, Freso!
Freso
... I think that about sums it up. I've also poked a bit at my freedb script (mostly moving it to GitLab) and whipper. Oh, and I went to the office over the weekend to try and get ob.o back up, but it failed. Seems ruaok got the fixed now though. ๐

And, as said, I've got my ticket for my next trip to DK/SE. It seems the passport renewal process is going to be much more painless than I was hoping for. I guess I'll see next week. :)

I answered a few more "what's my MBID" questions
On Twitter, support, everywhere
CatQuest
:(
reosarevok
I pinned a tweet with a link to the guide, hopefully that will help on the Twitter front
Freso
reosarevok: I wanted to look into getting you looped in on the Discourse welcome messages so you can answer it there as well. :p
CatQuest saw it
reosarevok
Other than that, the standard support
And I ended up on a local open/linked data day thingy on Sat so I gave a short "look, MusicBrainz has a lot of data and it's linked from WD and links further!" during their talk on Wikidata and LOD

Not much time for more than that, but still, it's nice to have two different orgs showing you can do open data and not lose money at the same time to people who are confused about the whole thing :p
(and a bit of the data itself, of course)
They were speaking about SPARQL, which makes me wonder if ruaok talked with Barry anymore about that :p
But fin, otherwise
samj1912: go
ruaok did
samj1912
hi
ruaok
will report in a bit
Freso
(Oh, yeah, I was also at a dinner with zas and the BCN MeB crowd on Wednesday.)
samj1912
so, this week was spent mostly on exams, didn't have much time to code. Mostly did code reviews, made a few PRs today, doing a few bug fixes from 1.4 for the 1.4.1 release. Have an early morning flight to home tomorrow. Will be working on picard2.0 this week once 1.4.1 is done and over with and will also work on my proposal
worked on the indexer a bit, sadly nothing new to report
reviewed some code
fin. bitmap?
bitmap
ok
had a similar week to last week
ruaok returns
ruaok
(sorry)
bitmap
spent a lot of time on code review
tested sentry more and fixed several more issues I found. going to deploy that to beta today and move on to other things
Freso
(Sentry is... error reporting, right?)
bitmap
yeah
also fixed an issue in compile_resources.sh people keep seeing and went through schema change tickets
fin, ruaok
ruaok
sorry, the person in the flat next door had a plumbing emergency and I was drafted to mitigate the situation
last week I spent a bunch of time working to get LB into production.
Freso
๐
ruaok
I was reminded of how much incredible work zas, bitmap and Gentlecat did towards getting our stuff dockerized.
Freso is really, really happy to see LB finally progressing!
there is a lot to do and this is after everything has been figured out, so thanks guys!

You're doing good work, LB team!
ruaok
and last week Hugh at Spotify announced a recent listens API for spotify which is a heaven-send for LB.
this is a *really* big deal.
I also did some work with Quesito and went to the dinner, which was really nice.
chatted with alastairp about the sparql endpoint and we come to a conculusion.
I'll make a VM for barry and coordinate with zas to get things monitored appropriately.
then on thursday I went for a 4 day intensive swiss-german course in Switzerland.
it involved lots of burners, snow, hot tubs, booze and an wall of fun and incredible people.
and yes, I did actually understand a few sentences of swiss german.
fin. Quesito ?
Quesito
Last week I finished most of the reading portion of MeB product education. I feel I have enough of a knowledge base to continue implementing some overarching messaging and verbiage updates. I will (fair warning) continue to ask questions!
Freso
(Other people still up: samj1912 zas alastairp? LordSputnik Leftmost? Leo_Verto? โ anyone I missed, raise thy virtual hand.)
Quesito
Iโm compiling all this MeB info into a larger scope plan (yes, world domination) so that our messaging / PR / and social media are clear, consistent and aid in the growth of our ecosystem.
gcilou has nothing to report

Freso: I am done :P

Quesito
I began reaching out to users who should ethically be supporters. My communication is of a gentle and friendly, โpush in the right directionโ nature, thus far the response is interesting.
Freso
samj1912: Yeah, I realised just as I posted it. :x
Quesito: Looking very much forward to seeing what you come up with :)
Quesito
Mid-week I met the team BCN was nice to see some faces live and got to meet zas!
I also welcomed a new supporter to the mobile tier late on friday eve/saturday--which is always a nice way to end the week!
Freso--hope to get docs to sharing point asap!
fin!
LordSputnik: go!
Freso
Is the new one Soundirok?
Quesito
yes
LordSputnik
Quesito: thanks ;)
This week I was ill for a few days, and then busy the other half, so not much done.
Freso
:)
LordSputnik
However I had a good chat with Leftmost on Saturday, about our future plans, and we've agreed a way forwards on some of our docker issues, and server management. We're planning to take test.bookbrainz.org down soon, and use the main site a bit more adventurously, since it'll expose bugs to users quicker and let us get better feedback.
Apart from that just been continuing cleaning up code

Then I'll be working on improving entity display and editing
There is a dependency there, however tenuous
fin. zas, perhaps?
Freso
Or maybe yvanz_.
yvanz_
Yep.
I loaded bitmap with code reviews by working on a variety of small MBS issues, starting with recent ones, mostly display bugs and auto-edit improvements.
I had a quick look at schema change tickets as well.
Leftmost then?
alastairp
i'm here if there's still time
yvanz_
alastairp: go :)
Freso
No word from alastairp, Leftmost, or Leo_Verto, so I assume not. zas, still not around?
Ah.
alastairp
hey. just back
last week lots of SoC stuff
we've had a lot of reviews come in for AB - our good-first-bug tag is working really well
2 ready to merge, 2 still waiting on feedback
Freso
๐
alastairp
I also spent some time digging into iliekcomputers' open tickets for LB and giving feedback on those
ruaok
thank you!
alastairp
and clearned up LB jira and added good-first-bug tags there too
started some messybrainz hacking to clean up some long-standing issues now that we're starting to need the data
that's it from me. not sure who else is next
hibiscuskazeneko joined the channel
Freso
zas, if he's around...
ruaok
I doubt it.
zas normally needs a staycaction after a vacation. :)
CatQuest
sleepy zas
Freso
But if not, maybe let's move on and see if he comes back and we can squeeze him in later.
ruaok volunteers to sit on him
