I'll soon add some more attributes for work-work part-of rels as per classical discussion on the forum, once orderable relationships are no longer borked
yvanzo / bitmap: let me know when that is in prod
Next! Quesito?

Last week we finalized the t-shirts first off! Woot!
Freso is here!
Leftmost trusts that his was "forgotten".
This of course was promptly changed, so apologies in advance as I know the community voted for white/natural color tee shirts, however we had some vendor issues and the compromise is heather grey tees.
Freso was finishing dinner and didn't see his alarm
The quality did not change. And they look pretty cool, in mind opinion--so I do hope this change suits all.
loujine
I like it
Quesito
I really appreciated samj1912 helping ruaok with airbnb--while i dealt with the tees changing!
thanks loujine! :)
Leftmost: I ordered one for you....we see. :)
samj1912
Meeting?
Quesito
Other than that, I reopened one unicorn conversation and opened up a second unicorn conversation. The later has been a bit tricky, but clean minds will prevail.
we are in it samj1912!
samj1912
Oh, didn't see the bang, sorry
Quesito
I have also continued to bring in 2 more stealths last week. The developer program I have implemented is working really well and it’s a really great way to start off supporter relationships that will hopefully lead to long term data-mances....:)
Chhavi_ and I are also trying to touchbase and organize UX. We will continue to try to do so--in hopes for some awesomeness and discussion at the summit!
Summit-wise: I await confirmation for our ‘night-on-the-town’ dinner (saturday 30th) reservations from Copesetic. If they are unable to seat us we will turn to Flax n Kale. Either have a variety of foods for all palates (although the later does not serve carne).
While we are planning presentations (the typical I‘ve been told--casual) is there any interest in a projector?

Quesito
As I’ve been preparing my presentations--I’ve figured lots of data images as most think what I do is a bit boring….so projecting would be useful to me--does anyone else have interest in this?
Freso
Quesito: Sounds neat! :)
Quesito
I can bring mine to use--it’s also super easy to rent a set up in bcn. Let me know!
FIN!
Freso: Go Senor!

LordSputnik will be away today... Mostly just worked on entity editor, edition UI now done, just gotta write the form processing code which should take about an hour. Then onto the last two really simple editors :) Hoping to release a new site version just before the summit
...
I guess LordSputnik went first then.
alastairp
I have stuff to say, but am out doing papeleo, better to wait until the summit
Freso
Anyway.
Spent quite some time on reported editors as well.
s/as well/again this week/
Did a Discourse upgrade (and had one Discourse upgrade done for me by zas :p).
And otherwise spent time on forums and IRC.
Off-clock, I also continued my MusicBrainz editing (and not a wee bit of programming) streaming.

Freso: sorry for interrupting, wasn't following the conversation, just did a brain dump ;)

I'm currently traveling to the city of Chandigarh to collect my passport from the visa office.
Worked on two issues this week: LB-208, LB-209
Only kinda sorta MetaBrainz related but I gave a talk on GSoC for SFD this week and I did some MeB promotion there as well. :)
Leftmost: Hit us with your trivial and snarky update!

I am in the process of sourcing root beer and whiskey for the summit. If anyone wants anything else from Montana, now's the time.
reosarevok
Is there anything else in Montana?
Leftmost
Quesito gets root beer if she's very nice. Alastair gets some anyhow. If anyone else wants some, also let me know that.
Quesito

hi
I fixed some compression issue with the json dumps...
after we started including isrcs in the release dump, the file size ballooned from 2+ GB to 9+ GB for some reason...I got rid of pixz and am using a compiled xz-utils now and it's back to 2+ GB
(didn't use xz-utils to begin with because xenial's is old and doesn't support threading)
worked on some PRs to add static types to our JS and port more things to react
relatedly was trying to fix MBS-8453 again by porting bits of the relationship editor to react

helped with the server upgrades on thurs and fixed some stuff in the aftermath
some of the hourly scripts broke because bzip2 was missing from the new images, including the one generating replication packets, but I was able to recover those from the temp dirs fine

fin. zas next?

Start of week was about preparing a series of upgrades on all servers: docker, consul, consul-template, and important cpu firmware upgrade on intel machines.
we proceeded with bitmap on thursday, it went pretty smooth until last upgrade ... ;)
we messed up main postgres server upgrade by forgetting a simple health check binary in the image
it was fixed as soon we figure out what it was... but the blackout was much longer than expected
after that we fixed minor issues related to upgrades, now everything is fine
Freso
🙌
zas
some of our servers were lazy at reboot time, it slowed the process
but overall, all servers are now in sync (same docker version, latest consul, and firmware fixes done)

apart that, i did a bunch of MB edits, and usual supervision
next ? samj1912 ?

Hi
Most of my week was spent on midterms
Learnt about our server deployment setup from zas an read on about solr
Also chhavi says
Chhavi says she is a bit caught up with the mid terms, but has on her mind a teeny presentation on design buzzwords/flow which she will like to present at the summit , if everyone is up for it. :)
Apart from that, Quesito and I will touch bases on UX. Chhavi says bye, and see you again.

last week was a lot of summit prep stuff.
I made an office sign. hung lights. ikea trip. interior design.
I hired a cleaner who is finishing up as we speak.
did some contract renegotiation work.
pushed some LB features live.
and a bunch more things I can't even remember.
I'm happy to finally get the office to a space where we should all be comfy and well situated here next week.
fin.

I guess no one's left then.
bitmap: supported browsers
bitmap
oh
we haven't updated these in a while, so I calculated new ones
safari dropped to 9.0
chrome stayed at 44
edge bumped up to 14
Freso
Safari... dropped?
bitmap
ie stayed at 11
firefox stayed at 44
Freso
So we're supporting an older version now than we did 6 months ago?
bitmap
yeah, though I don't remember if it actually dropped or if we decided to just support the newest point release of 9.1.
of 9.x
opera isn't anywhere above 0.5% but the version with the most share is now 43
