I worked on coding new reports for admin (limited users, and so on)

I reviewed more bitmap's PRs and started to work on JS updates as well

This week i managed various server issues

Boingo failed on Thursday, after usual attempts to reboot, i contacted hetzner, it was a CPU fan failure, now fixed.

On Sunday, community.metabrainz.org failed badly because of https cert expiration, fixing it wasn't easy, but i finally sorted it out. The certificate wasn't renewed as expected, I spent a bit of time to find why. It was related to HTTPS only and a badly designed stock template. I still have to add an alert in nagios for this.

I am in roller coaster negotiations with a one business, and two other entities that are ready to upgrade their status of support with us!

Which is really great news--and always nice when folks are easy going and excited to support us! So this quarter’s end (this week) I have quite a few additions for accounting!!!

I also may have another development project asked of us, however this may or may not be a ‘thing’ yet...it’s marinating as I await more info from the possible supporter--as it could also turn out to be nothing.

Last week I was also able to get my work contract extended for one more month with metabrainz.

Ok, so this week I finished our new entity editor, which means it should be live for testing during the summit

It's much nicer to use than the old one - faster, simpler

awesome job LordSputnik!

Next up is writing a new relationship editor, and also modify the relationship system so that relationships can only be set for specific types

I hope to get that done by November

Then I plan to take a two month break (roughly) until the start of GCI

I forgot to report we encountered a blocking bug in MB with new relationship attributes added by reosarevok, this has been hotfixed by bitmap.

I'm currently working on preparing the survey data for the summit and also trying to understand d3js to do some visualizations

so if anyone has any good resources on getting started with it, I'd really appreciate that

Just some updates etc. about what I've seen the last few weeks. We will likely talk more about this at the summit, so this is just meant to get thoughts going.

Since the spam measures were put in place on account profiles (limiting the ability to link from "homepage" and "bio" fields), spammers have taken to create spam entities.

(Spam entities as such are not a new thing, but I don't think I've seen it with this frequency ever.)

data entities, like events?

Mostly Events are created, but I've seen a few Labels and Places too.

Are they trying to exploit the fact that MB is well indexed by Google?

No idea. I can look through my edits for the events I've deleted and see if I can find out when they started getting created.

(Will probably need a lot of digging since you can't look through edit histories of deleted entities. :/)

But they all seem to have been created in the last couple of months.

Anyway.

Just a heads up. If anyone has ideas for analyses or data gathering, let's take it after the meeting (or at the summit).

I've been thinking it might be nice to try and get some live streaming of some of the sessions going, so members of the community who are not going to be there can "attend" (or at least "listen in"). I don't even know how to begin to go about this, so if anyone has any idea, please poke me.

I think nikki was the only one who ever strongly objected to being filmed, and since she's not participating anymore, I think this could be a way to improve the inclusiveness for people unable to travel for the summit.

I've been having a lot of luck with appear.in, but I am not sure you can record the video.
