During one of the GCI tasks, the student had added a social media link. While the edit was still in review awaiting votes, the student tried to update it (at my request) but was unable to save the edit. They had to first cancel the original edit before they could save the new link address. Is this expected behavior for the website?

george: You had some good feedback on the BookBrainz search page yesterday, and it aligned with a couple of things I wanted to fix/improve, so I got to work: https://github.com/bookbrainz/bookbrainz-site/pul… and wanted to say thanks

rdswift: I'd say "no, please file a bug", but it might be helpful to know if they got any error messages or exactly what happened.

I'll try to find the tsk and ask them. I don't think they received any error messages because they seemed to think that the edit had gone through. They did include screen shots of what they submitted for changes, but when I checked those change edits didn't exist. I asked them to canel the existing edits and try again, and the new changes went through.

I can try to reproduce this in test.mb.o if that's of any value.

Hi everyone, I've got a again a little question
2018-10-31 30418, 2018
virus
I'm looking at GCI task "Allow disabling new version update checking for Picard packagers"
2018-10-31 30437, 2018
virus
What does "Picard release packagers" mean there?

virus: I was taking a look at that one too--I seem to remember a conversation about it on the ticket/a PR

I was going to ask one of the staff about it, since it seems like there might already be an option for it or something?
virus: since Picard may be packaged by third parties (ie. to be included in a specific linux distribution), packagers may want to disable this feature (which is checking automatically if new versions of Picard are available), because installation is done through a specific packaging system and they maintain themselves new versions of Picard made available to their users.

Freso, I just tried it on test.mb.o and it worked as expected, keeping both edits in the review / voting list. Not going to bother with a ticket at this point.
