Kapish_, reosarevok: ExpressRip appears to be currently maintained and updated (and commercial?), so I'd trust that it would be updated if it broke because the FreeDB gateway was discontinued. My opinion is that it should be okay to use as one of the two required for the task.

Then what rdswift said :)

reosarevok: About MBS-8932, is there any other type of IA content (score, libretto, …) that can be attached to work?
as a way of saying thank you because they use your data
reosarevok
Pretty much
I mean, we suggest they do :p
But if they don't want to, they don't really need to, in most cases. The data is free, but we provide a few services on top
(for example, automatic updates if they have their own copy of the database)
Kapish_
wow this is interesting
i really didnt know how such companies run
thanks to code-in i am learning a lot :D
btw reosarevok How much do our tasks (as students) help you with the database?
i mean the research i do and the style i use is nothing compared to what you professionals do.

Hi Kapish_ . I'm impressed by how active you are here. You seem to be always available. :)
reosarevok
Kapish_: depends :) The tasks are mostly to help people understand how MB works (so that you understand that it's possible to not lose money with open source is probably more useful than adding one or two artists! :) )
But at the same time, we have very mediocre coverage of Indian music, for example, so Code-In info from India is usually useful
Same for everywhere outside of Europe and America, really
(ok, I guess we have a fair amount of Japanese things)
And things like researching instruments are useful, because they save CatQuest a lot of time :D

c1e0 Most of my study material is sent to me by mail and my enterance examinations start in a month so i am online almost 7 to 8 hours a day and when i am not studying, i am over here :D
so the main idea of code in is to educate the youth about open source?
reosarevok
Yup :)
"Google's contest introducing 13-17 year old pre-university students to open source software development." is how Google describes it
We like that it's not only about coding, but also allows people who aren't hardcore coders to understand open knowledge a bit more :)
(I'm also with Wikimedia Eesti, which is the Estonian organization that helps support the Estonian language Wikipedia and other similar projects, so open knowledge is a big thing for me :D )
