Whilst optimizing the join I realised that the recording id table is not registering unique entries which I think is a bug because the whole purpose of making a different table and then joining it is because we want normalization.

akhilesh: No I'd really like to keep the datepicker, but I think you could try adding it to your component. When handling changes from the datepicker, you'll have to parse the date to update the separate fields, I imagine.
