I was able to connect with my MusicBrainz creds (logged into MusicBrainz first), and it showed my my existing api key with an option to generate a new key.

Try this... First log into MusicBrainz. Then while still logged in, open a new tab in your browser and try going to acoustid.or and try logging in again.
That's bizarre, because I just tried it again and it works perfectly here.
