ruaok, thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't seen it because it came in while I was briefly disconnected to update my client. As to the answer, I'll have to defer to outsidecontext, but will update the docs accordingly if required.
elomatreb[m], if I read this right in the Picard source code https://github.com/metabrainz/picard/blob/master/… it will read the (obsolete) tag 'Artists' but will write it as 'ARTISTS'. I will update the docs accordingly.

elomatreb[m]: yes, as rdswift wrote ARTISTS is correct. It used to be Artists at some point, but for compatibility with other software was changed to ARTISTS
