zas, could and I don't understand exactly how, do something that could consider him to be classified as an employee, not a contractor.

but we are not doing things to properly pay taxes as employers.

which would then cause us to get fined for not looking after our employees.

In Denmark, I think if you spend more than X hours at a work place a week, the work place has certain obligations. Not sure if this works for contractors too, but yeah.
      • 2015-09-15 25855, 2015

      • Freso
The EU countries are probably more oriented towards the rights of the worker than towards the rights of the work place, esp. compared to the US.

      • zas
ruaok: yes, but i wouldn't worry much in this matter in our case, til each contractor respect rules in his own country, it becomes an issue when some companies start to complain about something unfair. It happens when a company convert its own employees in freelancers to avoid to be taxed, and other companies in the same domain start to complain

hi all I am a non-programmer but want to create a plugin for Picard, is there any one that can help me get started with a "empty framework" or sample ? I want to add BPM to the BPM tag but from a calculated value not echonest, I have created a working calculate_bpm.py that I can call from command line; but need assistance to get it into a plugin.

ruaok: So... are you still planning to make a blog post about BrainzBot? Or should I weave that into the IRC channel switcheroo post?
      • 2015-09-15 25855, 2015

madmouser1: https://github.com/musicbrainz/picard-plugins has the plugins that are shown within Picard itself.

      • Freso
https://picard.musicbrainz.org/docs/plugin-api/ is probably the closest there is to an "empty framework" :/

A few picard development questions: 1) If I'm trying to build a plugin using the code base, is there a suggested way/location of building it so I don't have to work in seperate IDEs. 2) Does picard.file::move method run in a seperate thread? I've added a hook here and it seemingly freezes/hangs when I use for otherFile in file.parent on the call. 3) Who is considered the goto-person(s) for

(Interesting with the pickup in Picard plugin dev questions over the last few days. Did something happen somewhere?)

Well, in my case it's more that I've a large library that has been duplicated a few times and has various commonalities to it that picard by default doesn't handle well. So I'm sorta trying to wire it in. Only problem is I haven't really worked python in nearly 10 years and am more experienced with PHP/JS xX
