And I looked at that plugin, but decided to not use it for now.

I want to stay relatively "vanilla" to start off with, to ease users into it (incl. myself!).

I said one more thing. Then I proceeded to have another thing which is the zeroth thing. Then I'm to the -1st thing which is also the "last" thing ;)

That way we'll be able to slowly get a feel for what we want/need and expand "organically".

minteria, data in musicbrainz is crowdsourced, generally.

(some is added by bots with human supervision)

okay. hmm i just dont understand why the "artist" table in the database has what seems to be weird gender data... maybe im not reading it right.

minteria: if you're seeing numbers, that's because there's a separate table for gender which gives the names

If I understand correctly, you should be seeing a ... er, what he said^

yeah 1 for male

2 for female

3 for other

but... it doesnt seem to correspond well OR im reading it wrong

but when i look at the musicbrainz site and look up an artist, the gender info is right.

am i right in that it is the 11th column ? (which doesnt match the schema i think.. .but seemed to be the case)

I wrote test for the last edited field

in the db/test/test_dataset.py

but when i do python test_dataset.py

i get an import error : ImportError: No module named db.testing

you can use nose for testing

from the main directory, run `nosetests db/test/test_dataset.py`

you can't do it from the `test/` directory because the python path needs to be based on the root project directory

okay

(if you just run `nosetests` then it will run all tests. It's a good idea to run this before you commit, to make sure you didn't break a different part of the system with your change)

yes I am doing that, and also will it be okay if i do a time.sleep(1), between creation and updation of the test dataset, in the test for last_edited field?

so that the last edited is different before and after the update
