the super tiny ferreteria near the office had it. I couldn't explain it. he asked me to draw a picture and then he immediately dug it out and handed me a pile.
amazing. though he charged me 3€ which is highway robbery, but still.
downloaded ubuntu in less than 30 seconds.
I can't even make a sandwich that fast.
Gentlecat
well, that's some internet
ruaok
alastairp: where are you at wrt to the PRs from armalcolite ?
reosarevok
ruaok: not even I can burn a sandwich that fast!
ruaok
heh
alastairp
ruaok: paper deadlines :(
due on Monday, so next week I'll look at them

Guys, a quick search server question: What version-tag-commit of search server should be used for this schema change?
ruaok
we haven't really updated the search server at all yet.
we should, but haven't yet.
alastairp: I'm out to BLQ on wednesday. can you set aside some time on tuesday so we can tag-team the PRs and hopefully get LB caught up?
alastairp
yes, sure
UmkaDK
ok... so what's the recommended approach here?
alastairp
ruaok: my gut feel is that most of them are 90% good, we just need to tweak a small bit of stuff and merge them
but let's make those decisions on tuesday
ruaok
perfect.
alastairp
hmm
so. spotify api has a field "genres" for album responses
but none of them are filled in
gcilou momentarily forgot that Monday was just a US holiday
UmkaDK
Do we need to wait for the search server upgrade or can we just release the HEAD revision
?
Lotheric joined the channel
ruaok, any idea?
ruaok
I'm full of ideas, most of them bad. but you're not asking that are you? :)
use HEAD.
D4RK-PH0ENiX has quit
all that is missing is having the search server emit the GIDs for all the new GIDs that were added.
I doubt anyone is pining to consume those just yet.
UmkaDK
:) Thanks!!
and am I right in understanding that the proper version will be released sometime next week?
reosarevok
don't promise anything, ruaok :p
UmkaDK
:D
ruaok
UmkaDK: no.
UmkaDK is being grilled from upstairs ...
tell them these are not the features they are looking for.
is there demand for these features?
UmkaDK
I just need to tell someone something, any estimate would help!
ruaok
within the next 6 years. we promise.
not helpful?
UmkaDK
:)
let me see if I can get away with what you already said.
ruaok
I have no idea which way is up and that task is a pretty chore-riffic one.
a month at least.
ruaok goes to hunt for more coffee.
UmkaDK
Thanks ruaok!! I think that did it! :)
bitmap
/edit/notes-received is still extraordinarily slow, apparently :/
ruaok: https://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/MBS-8953 - I dunno if that's "yeah, follow the blog and add a dump" or if they do have a new dump and it's "just wait, it's broken", or something else entirely
gcilou
Gentlecat: doing it now, but I think I've done it before
I guess if you want to keep the internet going overnight, you'll have to hook up a bike to a generator or something :/
alastairp
kepstin: there's a small battery there too. perhaps it's enough for a bit
Gentlecat
heh
ruaok
DC
reosarevok
But why would you need to, if everything downloads in 30s :p
No need to leave stuff overnight
alastairp
but anyway, there's no lights in the office, so when it goes dark you can't do much anyway
ruaok
the solar charge controller kicks out 12V, the router needs 12V.
alastairp
I guess with the laptop you can stick around
ruaok
I even opened up the router to ensure that I wouldn't damage it by going over a bit.
alastairp
light some candles
ruaok
fortunately it includes a power regulator.
bitmap
gcilou: change MB_SERVER_ROOT to '/Users/carolinegschwend/musicbrainz-server'
gcilou
ok thank you
ruaok
the better is so miniscule that it will only work for a short while without power. If we could get the panel on the roof, that would be a different matter.
voltage on battery holding steady.
ok, now to some work
alastairp
right, so it's not cargando as well?
charging
ruaok speaks spanglish
ruaok
hard to tell what it is doing. if there is excess current, it goes to the battery.
kepstin
that's a 35W panel? you're probably getting around 20-25W in that sort of position. i'd guess? should be enough to power the router and trickle-charge the battery :/
ruaok
the battery is at 12.24V, which is pretty low for a lead-acid battery.
