This week, probably on Wednesday, I'm going to upgrade BotBot to the latest version, and, if there's time, I'll also do some MetaBrainz-ization of the home page.

*Congrats
🙌
LordSputnik
I've been working on putting BotBot into a Docker container, which is going fairly well
I've got all the dependencies installing correctly, it's just some Docker-specific things that need adjusting to make Django migrations and superuser creation not need user input.
I've also been speaking with Leftmost about Dockerizing Rika, and we've started working on a plan.
Currently the best idea we have is to create a docker container for each sandbox, and one to host the database, and have users connecting directly to their docker container on a specific SSH port. Hopefully we can make some more progress on that when he gets his laptop working!
Finally, I've arranged to meet with QuoraUK once a day at 9PM - hopefully this will continue till the end of GSoC. This'll allow us to better co-ordinate whats going on with Gamification of BookBrainz.

Freso
Physical or IRC meet?
LordSputnik
IRC
Freso
Okay. In public (ie., here)?
LordSputnik
we could probably do physical, but it would take 3 hours of travel time :P
Yup
In 45 minutes
QuoraUK
pretty much >.<
Freso
Great! :)
stanislas: Go!
Okay, taking stanislas off the regular list.
alastairp: Go!

last week I finished a paper that we're hoping to get accepted to a musicology workshop. We're focusing on how different places online (mb, lastfm, discogs, allmusic, itunes, etc) differ in descrbing the genre of songs, and what impact that has on our automatic genre recognition
Today I did some work with kartik on getting our model training working on remote machines. We got some bugs fixed in gaia (which I help mainintain), and things are looking good. I'm sure he can explain more
LordSputnik: that's a good idea about regular meeting, I've been too busy the last few weeks to get into this rhythm, but I think I should start it with kartik and cetko too, perhaps starting tomorrow :)

alastairp: Remember to write down summaries of any RL interaction and post them online so whatever happens is documented in the open and not just between the 2-3-? of you. :)
chirlu: Go!
LordSputnik
alastairp: yeah I'm thinking a short 15 minute agile-ish meeting
alastairp
Freso: yeah, this is internet-only. if we meed with hellska we'll report online
Freso
Oh, right. I can never remember which one is the BCN one. :|

No chirlu it seems. I should just let him add himself when he's actually around.
the first page is deleting the current middle section (community, database, and developers) and adding a logo bar across the bottom to begin promoting the other Brainz sites.
the second page is what I’d like to see MB look like: cleaner, more organized, more sophisticated, welcoming.
The second thing I’m working on is a presentation about MeB and the Brainz projects and MeB’s experiences during GCi which I will be presenting next week (ah!!) during the Google trip (ah!!)
Madrios_ has quit
You can look at the presentation here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1IuFujAA... and ping me with any thoughts, comments, or concerns. I’m open to ideas. (I’ve never given a presentation before so I’m nervous 😃 )
Freso
You'll do great. :)

I’ve also been looking at changing up the ‘tagger’ icon in MB from the green tag, to a more MB styled icon (maybe including Picard no-detail logo)
Sometime soon, I will (hopefully) get to making the new artist icon clearer. There was some talk of it in the forums last week. (I will be making the outline of the person thicker) I also edited the series icon, as Freso noted that it was not centered 😃

Cheers. :)

Okay.
I worked on making that more tracks dialog functional.
One can view more tracks than the auto tagged one and load that into Picard.
This week mostly busy travelling, so not much time for picard. But I'll cover for that in this week.
That's all. Fin.
I mean last week.
Freso

QuoraUK: Go!
QuoraUK

I got all my database related work done this week, but I had my final exam so couldn't spend as much time as I would have liked on it
and as LordSputnik mentioned we are meeting regularly at 9pm now so that should be handy
got some ui work and first achievements to get done this week :)

Probably better.

oh, speaking of genres: some belgian guy spent stupid amounts of time combing through data to create an as-close-to-definitive-as-possible list of genres
