you never sent me a summary of what you did last week.
I'll go in order to get us started.
last week I came back from Nutella Burn and once I got back I started working on accounting.
I figured that a solid day would do it for sure.
today, 4 solid days later, I am finally done.
that was a massive pain.
at least there is money in the bank and if people pay us as they should, I may consider hiring a part time perl dev to give bitmap some help and to free up Gentlecat to work on CB/LB.
but, that remains to be seen.
bitmap
sweet
ruaok
I've also been doing work on the office, including plumbing.
hopefully at the end of this week, things will shape up there.
reosarevok
:)
Yay possible dev
ruaok
then, for about 3 days we've had our switch start to fail... we think.
we've been chasing our tails trying to find the cause of intermittent network dropouts.
zas
was mostly busy at extinguishing fires with more or less success (totoro failure, packet drops/switch)
ruaok
there is no indication that our switch is failing, but nothing else seems to be failing.
yeah, fighting fires, when this week was supposed to be all about dockerizing everything,
meh.
so, I suspect that gcilou and freso will not appear because they are participating in the GCI summit.
in other GSoC news cetko dropped out.
bitmap
what was their project again?
ruaok
which is really disappointing -- this is the second person who decided to take a job and just leave us hanging.
AB something or other.
oh, Big Query
bitmap
:(
ruaok
I find that disappointing because that makes money/effort and time vanish.
poof, gone.
Gentlecat
it's a real shame that people don't take this seriously
alastairp
I'm still keen on making bigquery happen
so I'll be looking at it as a spare-timeish thing
ruaok
we've lost 1/3 of our students to this. that is $10k less that we're pulling out of Google's pocket. :)
right, enough rambling for me.
alastairp: go
alastairp
I finally finished review of an AB PR!
shock
trying to get through them all this week, to free up Gentlecat's blocks
been working with kartik on his gsoc stuff. I'm pretty happy with what we're doing so far
got a key to the office :D
diana_olhovyk_ has quit
LB still on the backburner unfortunately, but I want to try and get my blocking PRs cleaned up this week too
that's it
reosarevok
A fair bit of support, a fair amount of forums help, and tons of classical editing because people keep adding classical that needs fixing. Also a lot of football watching, which should continue for the rest of the month.
Fin.
ruaok
zas: ?
well, i guess you heard what zas said already.
not much beyond that.
zas
yes; nothing more
ruaok
well the 700 requests per second when the switch is not acting up...
which is AMAZING.
bitmap: ?
bitmap
well, I did the mbs release, then the usual code review/merging, and fixed several small bugs
reosarevok
zas: thanks for all the work, annoying as it is :)
bitmap
then I mostly spent time starting work on the alt. tracklists UI again
to hopefully get people testing that by the end of the month
alastairp
I'm really happy to see the extra requests per second which zas is getting
bitmap
I helped with some small stuff taking MB down during the totoro mess and documented that procedure in syswiki
and fixed other outdated info about baron
alastairp
interesting to see that it seems that the hardware can (mostly) support it, and the bandwidth, and that it's mostly a matter of parameters
bitmap
fin
ruaok
bitmap: once the switch nightmare is done and maybe, hopefully, we have spare time, we could use your help on dockerizing things for MBS.
Gentlecat is already working on CB stuff.
Gentlecat
MBS pull request reviews. fixed issues with payments and receipts on MetaBrainz website. solved some minor problems with OAuth implementation there. published some new supporters.
pretty much finished dockerizing CB
deployed some office stuff
fin
bitmap
ruaok: will definitely help with that
ruaok
sweet. zas just needs breathing room.
I've been able to replicate the musicbrainz-docker stuff successfully.
Gentlecat
maybe we can have a wiki or something similar to share best practices?
ruaok
a wiki page, sure. :)
thanks for volunteering to start that!
Gentlecat
I still have some open questions about how to do some things
ruaok
armalcolite?
hellska?
hellska
Hi
armalcolite
ruaok: yeah.
Gentlecat
and it would be nice if the setup is consistent in our projects
ruaok
armalcolite: gio
-i
Gentlecat
hellska: hello
armalcolite
is the meeting on? sorry, was caught somewhere else.
so,
ruaok
yep, you're on!
armalcolite
i got started with the soc project
token auth + session fetching + authenticating is working
its running on temp DB in MYSQL but wont take time to switch to postgres.
track.scrobble is working too!! :)
ruaok
:)
armalcolite
and i tested it from the LB server.
so, its somewhat integrated.
fin.
ruaok
thanks armalcolite. and thanks for putting up with all of our craziness.
hellska: go
hellska
Hey, last week not very productive :(
Freso
Summary: I did nothing the last week, other than preparing from the trip.
Currently sitting outside of one of Googleplex's caféterias and having lunch.

ruaok

hellska
reviewed the code written for client and server
ruaok docks freso 2 Kg of chocolate
Gentlecat
hellska: did you manage to figure out what was the problem with vagrant?
hellska
gentlecat: yes I solved it and then I met Alastairp and we checked together and did some tests
small fix on the installation of the acousticbrainz VM
now all the environment is again up and running and I plan to finish the work on API next week
fin
ruaok

ruaok

rahulr
Yo!
Hello.
ruaok
go rahulr
rahulr
Well I've been working mostly on the design of dialog box.
Persisting size, and showing a feedback during loading of results.
Later half of the week, I've been busy integrating search with new dialog boxes.
that's all. fin.
thanks. :)
bitmap
just don't get too caught up in the design before the features are working
ruaok
+1, bitmap
rahulr
bitmap: Got it!
ruaok
ok,anyone else?
ruaok is happy to make today's meeting short. its been a trying week/end and this week doesn't look to be much better.
so, the current plan is to replace the switch late tuesday cali time/ass early wednesday here.
that is if the switch I purchased today actually gets shipped on time.
