huh, neat, 6-axis combined linear and rotational accellerometer/"gyro" chips aren't actually hard to find now. I assume that it has one of those.

(they don't actually use a spinning disc like a traditional gyro, but use some other mechanism to detect rotational accelleration around 3 different axis)
