Made some changes to existing Picard code, to make it usable for the dialogs.
      • Did some work on album dialog, mostly design releated.
      • Mostly busy prepping for exam, I've got one tomorrow (today to be accurate 12.30 am) and one on Sun.
      • That's all. Fin. :)

        Hi!
      • Made a bunch of changes in api_compat based on ruaok's feedback.
      • Tested the api_compat with audacious and made changes appropriate to api's methods. Also wrote the documentation for the same.
      • (not a detailed documentation, just some initial testing instructions. I'll start writing the actual documentations soon.)
      • Created a new PR! It addresses the splitting of the listens table into two. [https://github.com/metabrainz/listenbrainz-serv...]
      • Encountered an interesting bug in python (not really a bug), the objects in a list get mutated when passed to the function.
      • was not aware of this, https://ptpb.pw/1KwZ

        Hi
      • Worked on the schema change of Acousticbrainz to mark the ID type for submissions
      • worked on the API endpoint that accept submissions without MBIDs
      • Add support to request IDs from messybrainz, still work in rpogress
      • starting now with a local messybrainz server.
      • Gentlecat
      • hellska
some changes to the client not committed yet just to test the API

      • kartikgupta0909
Hi, last week i wrote the client code for making the request to the server to get pending jobs for a user. This week I ll be writing server and client code to process each job one by one. Mostly it will be passing datasets for a job to server to the client.
      • fin :)
      • Freso
        🙌
      • Alrighty!
      • Freso: quick GSoC reminder thingy
      • kartikgupta0909
        any deadline coming up?
      • Freso
Indeed. Mentors should all have gotten an e-mail for GSoC HQ. Be sure to talk to your students about what that mail said so you're on the same page. :)
      • That's all. Done. Fin.
      • kartikgupta0909: Not for a while.
      • kartikgupta0909
        oh okay
      • armalcolite
Gentlecat: yeah, i am aware of that, but was not aware that "for" iterator was iterating over object's reference.
      • Freso
The next one's in medio/ultimo August, I think.
      • CallerNo6
what did Freso poke (🙋) me about ?
      • Freso
Anyway. If no one else has anything, let's close the meeting.
      • CallerNo6: ... that's was for CatQuest -_-
      • *that was
      • Alright then.

        chirlu: ha
      • well, now you've got a real life testcase :P
      • CallerNo6
Are we still trying to keep mb usernames identical to discourse usernames?
      • Freso
        Yes.
      • alfie
        there's a mb discourse?
      • alfie googles
      • oh hey look at that, so there is
      • "Alfie"
      • yup, i fucked it good and proper
      • CallerNo6 looks up the character restrictions for discourse usernames
      • i'm gonna keep that as my discourse full name as a homage to that bug
      • CatQuest
        awesoem alfie
      • alfie
the bug being "jesus christ stop it with your control characters"
      • CatQuest
        awesome even
      • alastairp
but that's weird. it looks like discourse is interpreting it as iso8859-1?
      • CatQuest
I think mb is great for allowing characters
      • alastairp
since if it was utf-8, it would be blank
      • alfie
        alfie: yup
      • CatQuest: sure, but not control characters
      • CatQuest
        aww
      • but Alfie is a great username
      • CatQuest is not sarcastic)
      • alfie
more importantly, i need to figure out why my browser posted a control character in a username at all
      • CatQuest
I wish I could tag users so i could tag yo uas "sillyname" (as wel las all those silly silly peopel that have things like smilies as username)
      • alfie
i know IRC doesn't allow that much unicode in nicks
      • Leftmost
It's not technically a control character.
      • alfie
        well, freenode
      • Leftmost
        It's just zero-width whitespace.
      • alfie
Leftmost: fair point, it's a "THIS IS UTF-8 K COOL" character
      • Freso
        As jesus2099 would say.
      • CatQuest
        :D
      • Leftmost
Technically, U+FEFF is ZERO WIDTH NO-BREAK SPACE. It's just used as a byte-order mark, but that's technically not its purpose in the standard.
      • alfie
Leftmost: only if it appears in the middle of a stream, and it's been deprecated anyway
      • but we're splitting hairs
      • point is: it was there and shouldn't have been
      • Leftmost
We're just arguing pedantically. I haven't split a single hair during this conversation. :-P
      • alfie
        >.>
      • we're gonna get on great :P
      • Leftmost
        :)
      • Freso cut his finger at the beginning of the meeting >_<
      • Freso
Or ripped rather than cut. :/
      • CatQuest
know that leftmost is like this
      • ¬¬ at leftmost
      • wait. no.. it's ⌐⌐ at leftmost
      • Leftmost
        :-D
      • alfie
has anyone implemented the lb api in node.js, to save me some effort?

uuugghh. can someone *pretty please I'll pay like 100 nok with a cherry and purring cats on top* write a batch alias adding script of some sort? just a crude colon separated list as separated aliases one woudl do. omg

Freso: was the +n flag intentionally re-enabled?
      • chirlu
I think services automatically reset it.
